Oh, how lovely! I love how real their relationship feels here. :) And I like the way that it's sad, but they're not giving up, so it doesn't feel like all hope is lost.

...This tugged at my heartstrings, broke my heart for Tifa and Cloud and all at once, hit every single FF7-fan cell in my body with this entire "That's it. That's them. That's SO THEM" feeling.

I've never really thought of the Mako affecting him that way so that was new, in every good sense of the word. And oh, the way she tries to deny everything with a smile and he's trying in his usual quiet way to help or find a solution - everything fell into place here for me. I'm sorry I don't really have a very intelligible response to make but just know it was brilliantly bittersweet and I loved it. Thank you. *__*
