There's so many amazing poets out there. I can't believe it took me so long to find spoken word poetry.

Like I said, I'm still not into written poetry. It used to really upset me, but I think I've come to terms with it. lol :)

I'm glad you found something that spoke to you, even if you're still not into written poetry. We all have different tastes, so I think it's perfectly okay if you still don't love written poetry, too.

I too am an English major who doesn't like poetry. I've seen a couple of poetry slam type thingies online though, and I have to admit - some of them are pretty impressive!

I'm just in such awe of the poets - definitely not something I think I could ever do . . .

In general, I like poetry. However, there are always exceptions. I don't like confessional poetry - that of Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Robert Lowell, etc.
