Awww, this is so sad and so not what I was expecting, but it's beautiful. Thank you for writing this for me.

You're welcome~

This was really quite fun to write, and I guess I got a little off track from what you had originally intended, but I am glad you still enjoyed it :]

She was too quirky, too outgoing, too much of anything to be perfect, for all that she threw herself into the world.
I love this line. It's so Haru! And so is "believes unrequited love to be the worst thing in the world" -- waah, poor girl. And I like the bit where Kyoko is vaguely disbelieving about maybe being in love with Haru, because that's very much her.

Haru pours water into an electric kettle, mindless and politely formal, like they are the strangers one year has made them, and not the friends of a lifetime.
I like this line too, for nailing the odd distance that can come with the end of a relationship.

This whole fic is a little painful to read, not just because it's sad in the story it tells, but also because it feels like something like this might happen to Haru in canon - learning that love doesn't always last, and all the hurt that can go with that.

Haha, thanks for all your kind words. I wasn't really sure of my characterization of Haru, since this is different from how I usually write her, but I'm glad you liked this piece and thought it believable. There was actually a little I wanted to add from Kyoko's side, but since this was all Haru's point of view, I didn't think it would mesh.

This. was. fantastic. And although I know I probably should have cried at the end, instead I cried at:

"Haru looses her virginity halfway through her second year of high school to the first boy who asks."

With the context and the couple and everything ;w;
