Beauty

I was asked to elaborate more on my idea that beauty and art isn't always pleasing to the eye and I think it's better suited for here than somewere else. You are right it's all a matter of that old cliche "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." The problem with that being true though is that it destroys the notion that there is an absolte truth to things. Beauty becomes only a matter of perspective relative only to the person who happens to be looking. I was rash to say that of landscapes, but really what are the top five paintings that come out of persons mouth when asked? I think that would be a neat survey. Thanks for the spelling comment there I was trying to be a rebel and ended up cute <--sticks lip out bats lashes and laughs at herself. That feeling that you felt when you discribed your reaction to those things make it art, beautiful in way simply because it had that power. A unliving object without emotion that contains the power to move person inside. I looked up Requiem for a Dream it looks like a good movie I'll have to check it out. There is a good one if you are into that kind of thing it's called Donny Darko. It was one of the better movies that has came out lately don't ( ... )
