Being a VP is like being an Accountant

May 25, 2011 22:36

Today I went to a presentation that one of the HP VPs gave. The entire thing was numbers. This quadrant did well. This quadrant did poorly. We need to do better in this market sector. The numbers dropped because of this. All in heavily Singaporean-accented English. To a room of people who only have to listen to English 10 times a year at ( Read more... )

You should bring us all noodle-presents :<< Think about it.. two for one-! technically.

Also are you coming back right after your internship is over? D: (aka in a week?)

Have you asked your school advisor about the new situation yet? >< I mean.. currently you don't really have a choice in how much you have to do, and like.. they will either okay it under pressure, or they won't let you back in school in fall. The latter seems kind of dramatic (also they do prefer to have students back in school no? maybe? am I delusional?).

Also like.. do you think you'll be fine in school in the fall? =/ Like last year, you were aware that you probably were less normal than even your own normal before you took time off... and even though sometimes you hate therapy, it IS supposed to help.. if it's not.. there's something wrong with your therapists I think >_>;

LOL I told my mom about therapy but not about why;;; so now I guess I'm going to official therapy too... we can be crazy-buddies 8D (as if you weren't already;;)

Umm... okay? That is if you WANT day-old slimy cold noodles in a plastic bag O.o because that's how they take noodles home in China. BY THE WAY is there any food that you would ACTUALLY like me to bring back ( ... )

YAY! I'll get to see you this summer, right? :DD
I'll be living/working in NYC for the summer, and will be in NJ at times on weekends.

It's been FOREVER since I last saw you! I've missed you!

I hope your potential bureaucracy battle works out both easily and in your favor. I'm sorry that you're stuck living with your mother; I was glad to escape mine even if she was ...sort of okay.

Also, just wanted to say that you're always welcome to come to MD for a visit. Dad likes you so I'm sure he wouldn't mind you coming for a visit.

The main reason I wanted to comment was to say that I love the term "inside-gunk" for feelings/emotions. :)

Tentative yes. I'm thinking of spending some time with my dad... maybe... but I haven't even talked to him about it yet so nothing actually planned.

WHEN DO YOU GET TO NYC? We can go visit you as well if you can't make it to NJ :3 and "we" because it'd be me+at least one other person to drive

I'd love to go visit you in MD, although not sure how the logistics would work out with time/money etc.

I'll be moving into a dorm there on Sunday. (this Sunday, May 29th)

I should be NJ sometimes this summer; what's the point of being so geographically close to fmass for once otherwise? :)

Time, I don't know, but money -- Considering Dad is in NJ once or twice a month to see the dentist (...he really likes this one, apparently), you should be able to get a free ride one way at least.
The way I get to NJ if I can't tag along with Dad is this. There's the Bolt Buses that go from NYC to Baltimore. Tickets are $10-30 depending on when you buy them (earlier = cheaper. the first few tickets are $1). You can get to NYC from NJ via a $10 NJ transit ticket, and from Baltimore to our local train station via a $5 Marc train ticket. So -- $15 for public transit, plus $10-30 for the bus is $25-45 one way. Not a quick route, but about half the price of an Amtrak ticket.

I'm sure that the timing will work out eventually; just requires patience.

At the very least you've discovered some of the problems you've been having (although I think everyone suspected your mother being around was a huge issue), but school bureaucratic BS is a tricky beast. :\ I'm sure that explaining the situation will go a long way.

As far as thing go...looking into maybe working at the Hillsborough library or something might be an idea if they have any shelving positions open - it's pretty mindless work, but is also fairly relaxing.

My house is always open to you. And if grad school works out and you're stuck home, you're welcome to wherever I end up living in New Brunswick
