Actually, from the stories I've heard of people who do that sort of thing... they were probably just stupid enough to not put in their address.
Or possibly smart enough, because that would have been an easy way to trace them. There was an item in the news a few months ago about a woman who'd had an account stolen (it seems like it wasn't a card, but some sort of online business account) who helped catch the people who did it because they had the gall to show up at her house to pick up some stuff they ordered with her account.

About a year ago, my parents' credit card information was stolen and used to pay tuition at Harvard.
Most of me laughed at the stupidity and how easily it could be traced, but...part of me was impressed that it went towards something "useful" rather than just buying stupid material things.
