Chapter Four
Ryutaro Morimoto clasped his hands over his ears. He knew that it was a childish way of trying to block what he didn’t want to hear from entering his ears (never mind ineffective) but this was the least he could do, for there was some annoying girl trying to manhandle money from him.
Okay, that was a bit mean and a far stretch from the truth because Ryutaro owed money from this girl and the girl was trying to get her money back.
“Oi, Morimoto-kun! Pay me back! It’s been three months since the day the gang ate out and you still haven’t paid me!” Yuchii Sanada said as she poked Ryutaro on the shoulder.
“How many times should I tell you that I don’t have money yet?” Ryutaro said as he shut his eyes, too.
“You should have the money! It’s been three months, for god’s sake!” Yuchii said as she crossed her arms over her chest. “If you don’t give me the money soon, I’ll have to talk to Koyama-sensei about it.”
Argh… how annoying! Ryutaro thought as he looked away from Yuchii’s face. Even so, a tiny shred of guilt nagged at him. He did borrow money from Yuchii three months ago, and he kept meaning to pay her back, but every time he got hold of some money there was always a thing that he always wanted to spend it all on. In short, he didn’t have the money to pay her back yet.
Especially that day. Sure, he had money in his pocket that could pay her back, but he was reserving it for the presents of the JUMP members.
That and the train fare from Horikoshi to the JUMP House was going to cost him much, so he couldn’t fork over money to Yuchii.
“Mo-ri-mo-to-kun!” Yuchii trilled irritably. She didn’t like talking to the perpetually-cranky Ryutaro Morimoto, but he owed her money, and since Christmas was just around the corner, she’s going to need the money to buy presents. She mentally cursed herself for having allowed herself to lend him money. Maybe it was those adorable hamster-like eyes---hold right there!
“Sayonara, minna~!” Ryutaro suddenly called out, jolting Yuchii from her mental rationalization. Yuchii saw that he was already halfway the room and out the door. Yuchii grabbed her bag and shouted after him.
“Ryutaro Morimoto, there’s no way you’re going to get away from me again!!”

Yuchii Sanada held tightly to the train rails. It was very crowded inside, no wonder since it was very nearly the holidays. People were rushing to return to their hometowns and homes. She clutched her bag closer to her body as she glared at the one reason why she was here.
Ryutaro Morimoto was standing next to her, his face, stoic and betraying nothing as usual, was turned to the scenery outside.
“Morimoto-kun,” Yuchii said irritably. “Where are we going?”
“Shut up. I paid for you, didn’t I?” Ryutaro said in equal tones of irritability. He briefly glanced at Yuchii. This girl just didn’t know how to give up, didn’t she? She even followed him out here, and he had to pay for her train fare. He didn’t really know how the other JUMP members would react to his bringing a girl to the JUMP House. They might tease him or they might think it’s weird. He was the kid who didn’t understand girls, so to speak, even if he did have a younger sister, Natsune. Either way he wanted to make them think he was cool. That was his insecurity talking again.
“Geez, if you have the money for the train fare, how could you not pay me back?” Yuchii said in an irritated undertone.
“Let’s just say, I had the train fare money in a carefully-graphed budget,” Ryutaro said in a tone that said that he didn’t want to talk or elaborate more on the topic.
Yuchii shook his head. “You’re impossible, Ryutaro Morimoto.”
“I’ve been told that hundreds of times before. I never thought you’d be original,” Ryutaro murmured.
“You’re the worst.”
“I know, all right? Urusai na~” he said, glaring down at Yuchii.
Yuchii stuck her tongue out at Ryutaro. “Well, you deserve it. You pull me here without a word, you’re going to have to suffer through my being talkative, so there.”
At the exact moment that Ryutaro was beginning to regret why he had led Yuchii to follow him inside the train (honestly, he didn’t know) the train arrived at the station where he had to go off. He looked at Yuchii, who seemed engrossed with watching something on the other side of the train he wasn’t at, so he thought he might stand a chance to escape the girl.
As soon as the train doors opened, Ryutaro ran for it. He got out of the train and hid behind a pillar.
“That’s good,” he panted, “I’ve lost her once and for all.”
“Oh? Who have you lost? And why are you hiding behind a pillar?”
Ryutaro almost jumped out of his skin in surprise as he turned around and saw Yuchii standing there, looking at him with wide, innocent eyes as she sucked on a lollipop. Where the hell did she get that lollipop?
“How did you get there?” He asked, scandalized to the point of panic.
“Me? I went to that candy store right after I left the train. You rushed right out, you know. Why did you rush? It was as if the devil was on your heels,” Yuchii said a-matter-of-factly. Then she handed Ryutaro a chocolate-flavored lollipop. “I wasn’t sure what you like, so I just bought the
same flavour as mine,” she said.
Ryutaro accepted the sucker without much of a word as a grunt, then he shrugged his shoulders and walked out of the train station, Yuchii following on his heels.
“Why the hell are you still following me?” Ryutaro demanded.
Yuchii raised an eyebrow. “You’re the one who dragged me here. You can’t expect me to fare for myself alone, can you? Leaving a poor little helpless classmate of yours like I am to walk around such an unfamiliar place: that is just heartless!” The last line wasn’t necessarily a lie for Yuchii because she was really unfamiliar concerning that place, but she was independent and would never dream of having to depend on a guy to figure things out for her. Even so, Ryutaro Morimoto was making such cute faces when pissed that refraining from teasing him was just impossible.
“Shut up,” Ryutaro said, grimacing. Then he thought about it deeper. It might be true…Yuchii wasn’t really familiar with this part of Tokyo, what if something bad happened to her? He sure didn’t care that much about her, heck, she annoyed the living hell out of him, but if something bad happened to her, it would be on his conscience.
And he didn’t like anything making him feel guilty.
So he just ignored her and went on his way. Let her tag along. At least she’ll still be with him.

Ryutaro is up! <3 There are two reasons why I named the OC for Ryuu as "Yuchii". First off, one of my friends in the fandom is codenamed "Yuchii". Secondly, Yuchii is the combination of Chinen's first and last names: YUri Chinen. Yu + Chii = Yuchii! <3 Yep, I'm a fledgling Chiitaro shipper!
Tell me what you think of this chapter! <3
