Chapter Two
It was six-thirty in the morning when Inoo’s phone beeped. Inoo, always an early-riser, trailed out of his bathroom, his toothbrush still in his mouth, to retrieve his phone from his dresser. He opened the message, seeing that it was from Kota.
She’s gone. - KotaHe cracked a grin. He knew what Kota means. They haven’t been friends for more than a decade if he didn’t.

*flashback*
Inoo Kei was in his office, arranging reports, when his secretary opened the door and said, “Sir you have a visitor.”
Thinking it was one of the dolts he considered friends, Inoo nodded. “Okay, send them in.”
The door opened to reveal the girl he met yesterday in the coffee shop. She has made the effort to look business-y that he was amused. But she still looked pretty. And she was tall. She’ll be the perfect one for the thing he was planning.
“What brings you here?” he asked casually.
“I need your help, and also, I need your money.” The girl said coolly.
“Okay, I’ll help you, but I have a condition.” He said as he smirked.
“What condition?”
“You’ll have to sleep with my best friend. And in return, rest assured that all your hospital expenses will be paid.” He said as he wrote down my cheque.
“My best friend’s birthday is in two days’ time, here, this is your first payment.” He continued as he put the cheque in front of her.
He could see that she was caught a little off-guard by his sudden action. But after a few seconds, the determined shine in her eyes returned.
“Okay, then I’ll make sure that he will have the best sex he ever had.” She determinedly replied.
[end of flashback]

Bent on teasing his best friend, he replied:
Oh, who? - Kei
I do hope that she don’t bother us again after I fully paid her and her mom’s hospital expenses. He thought as he brought the cell phone with him to the bathroom. He has to finish brushing his teeth, anyway.
He was gargling when his phone beeped again. He spat and read the message.
The girl that I slept with last night. -Kota
Ah, the girl we hired as your birthday present. - Kei
Do you know where I can find her? - Kota
Nope, I just got to meet her 2 days before your birthday at a coffee shop, that’s all. - Kei
Ah. I see. Thanks for the gift, Kei. - Kota
Okay. Go get some sleep - I have to get to work. - Kei
Okay. -Kota
Kei hung his toothbrush on the rack as he looked at the last text message Kota sent him. A small smile etched on his face.
Otanjoubi omedetou, Kou-chan. Glad you liked it.

Inoo Kei has finally found a moment of silence when his secretary came in the office, announcing the arrival of another visitor.
“Okay, okay, just send her in,” he replied as he made himself some maccha. The first visitor that day, who sat on the sofa at the corner of the room, looked up, his shiny dark brown eyes accusatory.
“Who is that someone, Kei? Don’t tell me you’re already hiding someone from me.” Hikaru pouted as he sulked.
Kei chuckled and said, “Remember the ‘present’ we gave Yabu?”
Hikaru nodded his head. “Yeah. What about her?”
“Well, she’s the one I’m expecting right now. I’m supposed to pay her fully right now.” I replied as the door opened revealing the girl Kota has been looking at this morning.
“Ohayo gozaimasu~” the girl greeted us.
“Ohayo,” Hikaru and Kei said in unison.
“Come in and have a seat,” Kei motioned for her to sit on the chair in front of his glass table.
The girl sat on it calmly. Kei reached into his drawer and pulled out a signed check. He laid it across the glass table in front of the girl.
“Here is my full payment. And you don’t need to worry about your mom’s medication and treatment. I already summoned the medical hospital where your mom is admitted.” Kei said.
“Thank you, Mr. Inoo,” the girl replied.
“May we know your name?” Hikaru asked as he stood up from where he was lounging on the couch and plopped down on the chair directly in front of her.
“Mizusawa Elena.”
“Nice to meet you, Ms. Mizusawa. I’m Yaotome Hikaru.” Hikaru introduced himself.
“Nice to meet you Yaotome-san.”
Hikaru plastered a friendly smile on his face as he looked at her. The girl averted her eyes from Hikaru and instead, focused her attention at Kei.
“I need to go now, it’s nice doing business with you, Inoo-san, and thank you for saving my mom,” she said as she motioned to stand up, but Kei stopped her with a raised hand.
“Wait, Mizusawa-san, I do hope that we won’t hear anything from you. And please do not bother us again. Especially Yabu-kun.” he said steely.
“Hai. Good day.”
The door closed, and Hikaru waited a few more minutes before bursting into laughter. “Now I know why Yabu is acting weird this morning.”
“Stupid,” Kei yelled, but he cracked a grin.
“Yes, but you love this stupid guy,” Hikaru stood up, grinning, and started to stalk out of Kei’s office. “See you later.”
“No I don’t. Whatever. ‘Bye, Hikka.”
