name: Sakaeguchi Yuto
age: 14
position & team: Second baseman and vice-captain, Nishiura High School
koushien dream email: Sakaeguchi.Y@koushiendream.net
history: Sakaeguchi Yuto had a fairly normal home life growing up. His parents loved each other, he had a nosy older sister and a tiny baby brother who he thought was the cutest thing in the world. He was happy and content with his place in the world as any child his age, but when he was 7 he went through a horrifying and life-changing ordeal: his mother passed away. It was apparently a terrible car accident and by the time his father had rounded he and his sister up to go to the hospital she was gone already, dead from internal bleeding. It was her actions and perhaps a little miracle that kept his baby brother alive through the ordeal, suffering not so much as a broken bone, but then the car that hit theirs had struck the driver's side.
It was a very hard thing to come to terms to and it meant his whole family had to change. His father became more withdrawn and spent more time at work, no less loving but less present. It was his big sister that ended up becoming a mother figure to him and his younger brother, who helped to fill in the gap and she did a great job of it. Still she was young too and Yuto matured quickly to compensate and help her take care of the house and their younger brother. Time healed all wounds and soon this became their family dynamic. Losing his mother was hard and there will never be a time he doesn't miss her, but he's also happy still.
Friends and finding baseball in middle school really helped him to open up again and become the friendly person he is today. Baseball became a part of his life and he hopes it will be for a long time. He's not sure if he wants to go on to the majors or anything like that in the future, but it's a wonderful thing to have in school and he wouldn't trade the skills he learned or the bonds he's made through it for anything.
personality: Yuto is a very friendly person and is extremely slow to anger, often worrying about others and their relationships over himself. When there is a conflict he's good at keeping a level head and stepping in and making sure fists aren't thrown. He likes competition but dislikes conflict and keeps a good handle on which is which, never having hard feelings about losing. To him everything is a learning experience, from good situations to bad situations.
Strengths: Sakaeguchi is, as mentioned, calm and level headed. He's very friendly and people tend to like him quickly which make him excellent as a mediator. He also reads people well which facilitates his abilities as a communicator. Of course when he wants to get a bit sneaky with people using this capabilities he can, but never in a malicious way and usually only to help in baseball.
Weaknesses: This is a bad thing as well, however, as it also means he's a little diffident and has trouble fighting his own battles, tending to let others walk on him even if he doesn't like it when it happens to other people. He also has an issue with stress-induced diarrhea. He's not sure he's completely forgiven Abe for telling that to EVERYONE.

Ah, wow! I suppose it was only a matter of time until someone made a good social network for high school baseball. Everything else seems to have one! I guess I'm jumping on the bandwagon a little late but I'm here now!
Oh, "I" being Sakaeguchi Yuto. I'm the second baseman and Vice-captain of the Nishiura baseball team. I think our captain does all the important work but I'm happy to be there to support him, and everyone! I think our team has some of the best dynamics out there in the high school leagues. That might be a little arrogant of me to say but I can't imagine a team I'd want to play with more.
I do have to admit that part of the reason I joined the site is because I heard about the ticket deals for the Closing Ceremonies. My frugal nature called out to me. ^^ Still I can't wait to meet some new people on here, and of course keep up with my friends IRL.

Sakaeguchi always gave off the impression that he was a very diligent student, this wasn't to say that he wasn't! He always did very well in school. But he wouldn't call it diligence. He had very good note-taking skills and a wonderful short-hand that made remembering things from any lecture quite easy, the issue was that he didn't tend to listen to any lecture all the way. Inevitably his mind would wander and when it wandered, thankfully, he didn't space out like Mihashi would. He would write.
Each of his notebooks had sections devoted not to notes but his own little mental meanderings. Sometimes he would write down how he thought he could improve his game as a baseman or what he needed to work on for his at-bats. Sometimes he would smile quietly to himself as he expanded on his history notes with his friends and himself in the position of the great people of the past. (He almost burst out laughing in class thinking of Abe dressed up as Lucrezia Borgia and direction poor Italian Mihashi around.)
Sometimes he would blush and hope no one read over his shoulder as he scribbled down a romantic fantasy or two with a certain someone he had a crush on.
But the moment he was asked something he'd use that level head of his to check his real notes and dish out a satisfactory answer that always had Suyama shooting him an impressed smile from his seat. (Further across the room than he would like.)
And after school and practice they'd walk together and hangout a bit after the others had already gone home, eating ice cream. One time Suyama smiled over his blue popsicle and asked:
"Man, I have no idea how you came up with that answer so fast today. I don't think anyone else was even paying attention. You're one smart guy, Sakaeguchi!"
And Sakaeguchi blushed modestly and shook his head.
"Ahh, that's not true Suyama. I'm just a good note-taker, that's all."
