Fortunately Touya's next remark did just that, replacing the awkward feeling with one of carefree enjoyment. Yes, Jin turning down food or not complaining of hunger was rare but, he was now a guest in this house and the ningenkai had taught him a little in the way of manners. Or Genkai had.
"'Course not! Just don' wanna be a nuisance tha's all...wait...In tha' case I must be sick, ey?" Oh how Touya put up with him, that was a real wonder.
Jin strode willingly into the room, plopping himself down on Touya's bed and shifting the weight of his upper half on his arms, which were placed behind him against the bed.

He had had feelings for Jin for a very long time, though he couldn't remember when they had started, and he knew Jin. Knew Jin well. And he knew Jin had never before looked at him like he was starting to look at him now.

The once subtle feeling probing the back of his mind was now screaming, raging through his whole being, and once again he found it oh-so-hard to respect the annoying imp. Damnit, why did Shishi have to intrude on their lives?

He never would have been so forward if Jin hadn't been so obviously jealous.... and if he hadn't discussed it with Shishi. The imp was going to sleep with Suzuki, that was just a matter of time. Why not sleep with Jin in the meantime?

"'cos," He voice dropped to a low whisper, more to match the mood than to prevent anyone else from listening. The part of him that argued for Shishi's respect was but a dying flame, besides, it wasn't like the samurai had been completely loyal anyway. But...
"I wouldn't want ta interrup' somethin' you n' Shishi 'ad."
He would never lie to Touya, even though he cared little for Shishi's wellbeing, he did not want create a negative effect on his friend's part. And he would at least like the other to know how he felt.
