Upon meeting his sacrifice that morning, Soubi received the greatest shock of his life. His usually clam, collected expression was replaced with one of panic and urgency. His eyes narrowed behind his glasses as he absentmindedly affirmed he really was looking at the right person. Then, in two long strides, he closed the distance between them and seized the boy’s shoulders with shaky hands.

“R-Ritsuka…your…your ears…!”

Completely unfazed by Soubi’s alarm, the boy stared up at him evenly. Without missing a beat, or even blinking, he replied blandly, “They fell off.”

Soubi could have fainted right then and there at that stement. Gripping the boy’s shoulder a bit more, he stated evenly, “They can’t just fall off just like that. Someone took them right? Who was it?”

The “I’ll kill them” that resounded in his mind after the spoken portion was omitted from the rest of his speech.

“…Exia.”

Soubi blinked in confusion.

“…come again?”

“…Gundam.”

…hahApparently, it must have been the name of some new team Soubi had yet to hear of. That ( ... )
