Last night I re-read Ender's Game for the first time in a few years. In reading it again I discovered something; when last I read it all I could think was "Oh Em Gee this book is teh awesome!!!11 Ender kicks so much ass!!!!" Whereas after reading it again last night I thought that it was quite possibly the saddest book I've ever read. I didn't ( Read more... )

agreed. When i first read it, I hated it because I only took it as following a protagonist who could do no wrong, and that's boring

when i re-read it I (read it first when I was 8, again when i was 17) I realized how manipulated he is, and how sad it is. It was much better. Though I'm still not a giant fan.

Ender is really awesome, but when you're older, you get a different picture of everything.

I appreciated Speaker a lot more when I re-read it over spring semester (finished it in a day, much to the horror of my compatriots...they just don't know how we roll, Jon...).

Dim Sum tomorrow?

yeah, I always thought that book was really really sad.

still not planning on reading the other ones, though.
