-------

It was a very bright day, too bright in fact, that nothing can ever ruin it. At least that was Nakajima Yuto believed as he woke up in a tangle of limbs and a messy bed -- seems like a storm had passed through it while he was on it. And remembering last night activities, he no longer wonders why. Smiling shyly, he looks over the little guy that is still sleeping peacefully using his chest as his pillow and clinging to him like some fluffy stuff toy.

Ryosuke is breathtaking.

To be honest, Yuto is still somewhat on the process of digesting everything. One moment, he is just your average school teacher. Next moment, he is making love with the half-moon and half-wolf god that he only reads in story books. The boy isn’t supposed to exist in the first place. But then… here they are, naked, on bed…

It feels like a dream.

Staring at his now lover’s face, he doesn’t know but he guessed he now believes in love at first sight, Yuto is whole heartedly determined to fight for his feelings. And it’s mutual anyway.

Reaching at Ryosuke’s face, Yuto caressed his cheeks affectionately, just can’t stop the urge to touch him. That caused Ryosuke to wake up, stirring a little, Yuto watched Ryosuke’s closed eyelids tremble for a moment before it opened, revealing those gray white eyes staring back at him. “Good morning” Yuto thought of something interesting to say but ends up with nothing.

Ryosuke just smiled at him, that signature too wide and too bright smile. Before lunging to him and licking him in the face. Yuto can’t stop but to laugh, “…that tickles!” Not like that he mind. But then, Ryosuke’s animalistic behavior, they have to do something with that. Yuto can’t afford Ryosuke jumping on him whenever he pleases and started licking him in the face. Yuto loves it, he admits it. But imagine all the awkward stares they will get when that happens in public. “Alright… alright…” Yuto wrapped his arms tightly around Ryosuke, preventing him from tackling him any further. “Let’s go eat breakfast.” He invited, sitting up straight.

Ryosuke smiled gleaming that Yuto swore he needed to wear shades or else he’ll get blinded with too much brightness. “Come on.” He offered his hand and Ryosuke happily reached for it. But then, he winced for a moment. That changed Yuto’s mood from happily contented to downright worried. “Ryosuke?”

“It felt sore.” Ryosuke confessed, referring to his bottom. And Yuto blush beet red as realization struck him. He swore Ryosuke’s innocence on his human form will kill him. He faked a cough as he camouflaged a choke on his breath. “Ah, well, that’s…” Yuto blabbered.

Ryosuke looked at him waiting.

“…does it hurt much?” Yuto asked, slapping his face mentally. Way to go to divert the topic. He doesn’t know where to start explaining anyway.

“No.” Ryosuke shook his head. “…tolerably annoying though.”

“Is that so…”

“Let’s eat breakfast!” Ryosuke invited.

“Of course… food.” Yuto laughed. He swore he finally has rivalry when it comes to Ryosuke’s love and attention. “Come on. I’ll cook you a delicious one.” He pulled him to his feet. They got dressed and proceeded to the kitchen.

Yuto never knew that cooking can be this hard. Well, before, when he doesn’t have a spectator that from time to time, picks food and taste them. “I’ll never finish if you keep in interfering me.” Yuto chuckled, not like he minds. He can’t really be mad at Ryosuke, can he?

Fortunately, Yuto survived breakfast making. Staring at the served food, Yuto wasn’t somehow used to it. “Is there something wrong?” Ryosuke asked, seeing his furrowed expression. He was all ready to dig in.

“No, nothing is wrong.” Yuto smiled at him, changing his expression. “You can say that this is my first time seeing so many meat dishes for breakfast.”

“Is that bad?” Ryosuke asked innocently.

Yuto laughed. “Of course not. What made you think that?” he ruffled his hair next. “Come on, dig in, before it gets cold.” He pulled out a chair and let Ryosuke sit on it, before seating himself.

And Yuto can only laugh as he watches Ryosuke started eating. He had never seen a person with such a large appetite. And in no time, all the food he had prepared has been eaten with him having little participation. Well, they are all meat to begin with. Too heavy for breakfast… but who cares, he is too happy to complain.

When they finished, Yuto assisted Ryosuke to the living room so he can clean up the kitchen and dining room. He turned on the TV so Ryouske can entertain himself as he gets busy in the kitchen. He will join him soon.

Halfway his chores, Yuto was care-freely humming to a lullaby as he is rinsing the utensils when suddenly, he felt a shiver run down his spine. Yuto rarely believes in his instincts. But when they kicked in, he knew that something is happening or going to happen. He fought another shiver. He doesn’t want to think of anything bad that will happen as of the moment.

Yuto noticed then the silence. Following his guts, “Ryosuke?” he rinsed his hand and wiped them off his apron as he walked to the living room. Then entering the living room, he was just in time to dodge as one of his flower vases came soaring to his direction, and hit before the wall he was just standing a moment ago. “What the…?!” he swiftly turned to the source and widened his eyes. His whole living room is in complete disarray and chaos, as two overgrown wolves are fighting over it: one all too familiar white wolf and one honey brown in color. They were growling and snapping at each other, attempting to attack the other, baring their canines and their expression scrunched to battle as their tails standing to its end.

His appearance had caused their distraction and the brown wolf took it as an opportunity. Yuto froze on his position as the brown wolf leapt to his direction, his paws and unmistakable sharp claws pointing out, aiming at him. Yuto wasn’t even able to close his eyes with too much fright. “I am going to die!” his whole existence shouted. But the white wolf intercepted and pushed the brown wolf away from him. That caused the two of them to grapple on each other in midair and landed with a violent crash.

Ryosuke is stronger, that was obvious. But he was the one to hit the ground and receive the impact, Yuto even felt the quake when the two of them crash landed, he saw Ryosuke wincing in pain, grumbling lowly. They jumped apart, Ryosuke before Yuto as he shields him and the other wolf facing them, baring its fangs and growling angrily. The two of them posing and aiming for an attack.

Then the brown wolf eased out his figure and slowly, shifted to a human form. Yuto studied his features. He is the same height as Ryosuke and has honey brown hair. His face is rounded too, and baby like. He guessed he must be Ryosuke’s brother by father. Yuto can see the similarities.

Ryosuke shifted to his human form as well. The two of them looks worn out, a result of their fierce fight. They both panting heavily and covered in light scratches and bruises.

“So, he is the one?” the honey brown haired one said. “Your so called declared mate…?”

“He is my mate.” Ryosuke growled out, his canines growing out.

Yuto can only follow confused. “What’s going on? Who are you? What are you doing in my house?”

The stranger just looked at him with calculating eyes. He was about to answer and introduce his self, when Yuto cut him. “You know what, later!” then he can only watch Yuto scanning the whole room with contained hysteria, “What the hell have you done to my living room?!” he bellowed. Yuto walked around, picking up things… that once decorated his living room. They are all completely broken.

“Ano… Yuto-kun…!” Ryosuke started to explain.

Yuto turned to him demanding an explanation and his expression toned down a little, seeing the bruises and scratches that littered around Ryosuke’s body. He fusses on him next. “Ryosuke, look what you have done to yourself?!”

The honey brown haired guy can only stare at him in humor and disbelief. Humans are indeed peculiar creatures. He wondered what Ryosuke has seen in him for him to claim him as his mate. And speaking of which, he wonders what their father will do about it. After all, it is a taboo for their kind to mate with a human. It’s a crime that can never be forgiven. But then, claiming one’s mate is irreversible. Once a wolf has claimed his mate, it will be for life, until the day the two of them drew their last breath. It can never be undone, even the Wolf God himself won’t have a say with it.

-----------

Yuto groaned in pain and so did Ryosuke when the two of them were brought in front of the Wolf God, rather harshly thrown. The Ancient Alpha had demanded for Ryosuke’s presence but the young wolf god was consistently disregarding his calls, resulting for him to send someone to get him. He worries over him. Why is his son not returning when before, just a simple call, and he will be there? At first, he sent Daiki. He knows that among his children, Daiki is the one closest to Ryosuke. But realizing the fault in his decision, he sent two more of his children to bring him back. Ryosuke might be in some kind of trouble preventing him from coming home, and Daiki isn’t the one that can help when the situation gets tough.

The Alpha can only look confused. “What’s with the brutality?” he approached his son and tried to right him up. He can see his favorite son covered in wounds and numerous bruises. “What happened?” he gently asked him. But then, he had the feeling that there would be one answer to his questions and it got something to do with the human tagging along. He looked over at his son, waiting. But he was answered by silence and a guilty glare. Ryosuke broke off from his hold and retrieve to Yuto’s side: the two of them holding hands. That made the Wolf God feel disturbed. He looked over at Daiki, who averted his gaze regretfully. “Daiki…?” he called out lowly. He doesn’t want to get angry in front of his children, but he needed answers. “…and why did you brought a human with you?” though Ryosuke’s action earlier should have been a dropped bomb hint. But still, he wanted to hear it from their mouths, not from his own speculations.

Taking a deep breath, Daiki answered with clenched jaws. “They are mates.”

And the reactions were instantaneous… and chaotic, the wolf god needed to howl out to silence them. And it took a few more agonizing silent minutes before the wolf god spoke out again, and he was sending a contained glare to his silver haired son, who unmistakably cowered on his position. The human’s expression was clueless and waiting. “Is it true?” he asked for confirmation.

“Yes” Ryosuke answered, biting his lower lip.

Yuto can only watch clueless. What’s happening? What’s going on? Why is everyone looking at them with judging eyes? At first, he is just believing that the reason why they are forcefully brought here is because Ryosuke is refusing to go home, and as his mate, Yuto needed to go wherever he goes. But basing on the way they looked at them right now, he doubts it if it is just the reason. He can only clutch tighter to their holding hands. “Ryosuke, what’s going on?” Yuto dared himself to ask. He just can’t stay put when all of Ryosuke’s kins are throwing them dagger glares and he doesn’t have the slightest clue of what he did wrong. “Did we do something wrong?” he demanded from his lover, who only look at him apologetically and problematically.

“Ryosuke?” he tried again. “What’s wrong?”

“You and him… are mates.” Daiki was the one to answer, “That’s what’s wrong.”

Yuto turned to him quizzically. “What do you mean?” he really can’t follow up.

“We are gods, Yuto.” Daiki continued. “And you are just a human.”

Yuto can only stare at him, getting afraid of what he will about to figure out.

“It’s taboo.”
