Okay, making one of my periodic resolutions to post more. I'm not in the mood to post anything consequential, but I am in the mood to babble about flashmobs. FLASHMOBS. I'm just thrilled and fascinated by this concept at the moment. It's a form of creative mass silliness that would have been more or less impossible before the advent of the internet

The first ref to a "flash mob" I can recall was from the universe created by the author Larry Niven back in approx 1980 or so. Books by Niven include "RingWorld" and "The Integral Trees" and "Protector".
