Finally! I got to go to the hot new shop in Santa Cruz, The Perfumer's Apprentice. It's the place everyone keeps raving about and it's as good as they say, probably better since the owner keeps making improvements. It's richly appointed and cozy. bat herding
Last night we had a bat in the house. Not sure how the heck he got in. It seems unlikely that the cat brought it in and there was a good 5-10 minutes where a window was open with no screen (after a dish towel that was too close to the stove caught fire) but it was pretty early for bats to be out during that time and we were all in the kitchen ( Read more... ) -

The one that several friends used with satisfying results (David Osenga) isn't available since he went to jail last year for involvement in making/detonating explosive devices, primarily attached under the vehicles of victims it seems. In the news this week is the announcement that some users of the popular sedative, Ambien, have been getting up in the night and raiding the fridge with no memory of it in the morning. There have even been cases of people sleep-driving. Yikes!
