Roman palaces, swimming, and football games!

Sorry for the break in posts, this weekend I was in Santa Cruz for a wedding. Congrats to my friends Anne and Scott. :)

6/20/08, Friday

At least you had a good time watching the game! I watched in a bar too, but it was in Texas and nobody cared about the match except me and my family :( So it wasn't very lively.

I watched the very end of it when Croatia got beat on the cruise ship. Most of the people were Spanish so they were cheering a lot more. They started singing Ole, Ole, ole. But the Croatians love ties so much, I thought they would be wearing ties in the bar.
Also, how was Anne and Scott's wedding? =) I missed it because I was on the east coast and 4th of july airfare was too much. =(

Anne and Scott's wedding was really "smiley" (as Cajun said). There were a lot of alums so that part was fun. They're so cute together! :)

Oh. :( I saw the final in the NY airport, and there were a lot of people watching there, but they were probably foreigners anyways. :P

Speaking of both Split and football... I'd be remiss in failing to note that Split is home to Hajduk Split, the oldest and most successful professional club in Croatia as well as a symbol of Croatian nationalism since its earliest days when Croatia was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire...
