did you see one of the guys who got an award yesterday morning, blond streak and jeans...you don't have to dress up, and there were guys in robes wearing shorts and t-shirts.
What exactly went wrong with your car? Is it a chronic problem? Hondas aren't exactly known for breaking down a lot...it could be pretty serious if you don't get it checked out soon.
Yeah, my alternator was smoking tuesday night, so I dropped it off at Ken Towery's on Fern Valley (conveniently across the street) to have it checked out. They replaced the alternator and the alternator belt
( ... )
It actually sounds like it could be a botched alternator job, but then I don't know why the car would restart after it sputtered and died. Have you checked the connections of all the ignition and electrical wires? Just give them a once over, make sure everything is secure and clean.
Alternators aren't that difficult to put on, and if you were a little more mechanically inclined I might suggest you do it yourself. It's probably just a belt, couple of bolts, primary and ground wire anyway. At least that's what it has been on my cars, but I don't know much about Accords.
I've never heard any horror stories about Ken Towery, but then again I've never been there. For good deals on tires and general automotive maintenence I highly recommend Michel Tire on Shelbyville Road in Middletown. It's a damn nice place and they do their work very well and efficiently.
