Hmmm. I think I've come down with shingles...or in other words, chicken pox for adults. Supposedly the chicken pox virus has laid dormant in my spinal chord for the past 18 years, waiting to come out...now. And what do I get! Ah, great. I've never had chicken pox either so this is probably what I've got to look forward to.

Well, actually, I had an extremely bad case of chicken pox, so it was probably infected my spinal chord while I had it and laid dormant there after the medicinal treatments I had as a child. So, hopefully, you should be okay.

i don't know, you had chicken pox when you were under two years old, i don't know if the vaccine was common then, ask mom and dad.

The vaccine wasn't really common until mid-90s, I think, because my doctor suggested my brother get it back in '96...but I had exposed him to it the week before, so there was no point, the poor kid had it anyway. So, right, um, I rambled.

Actually, the majority of cases of shingles in people my age is actually due to HIV.
