Oh dear....my laptop is no longer booting up because my D.A.R.E. trophy fell on it. I suppose I didn't position the stuff on my desk very well and it was bound to happen, but I'm kinda pissed because fixing it will be a pain (in both time and money), if it's even fixable. hmm... when your computer loads a drive and prepares to read the data on it it's called "mounting." Your boot device is your hard drive, so basically your computer's telling you that your hard drive's broken. That makes sense because that's the part that's most sensitive to falls and shocks; there's a little disk inside it spinning at really high rpms and the arms that read that disk float microns away from it. A fall or bump hard enough to make them touch will corrupt at the very least whatever data it was reading and possibly the entire drive ( ... )
