Today is our anniversary. I am married to the most amazing man you can imagine. I am sure many people feel this way about their spouses, but my statement is absolutely true. Got a call a few minutes ago. One of the major news stations in town wants to come out and do a story on me and urban farming tomorrow morning. Time to hide the chickies and see if I still own make-up, I guess.

You know it's been that kind of day when it's not 5 pm and you are sitting on the front porch, drinking a beer, house a complete disaster, having just confiscated all of the art supplies for a week because no one will clean them up. Wednesday's running may kill me. She runs constantly. Into traffic, into the men's restroom, out of stores and buildings while I'm in the middle of paying. She won't hold my hand or stay in a cart, she can unbuckle like a 10 year-old. Today my children are making up for yesterday by trying to kill me. Sigh. Oh well, at least I have yesterday's memory. Procuring caffeine now to be able to deal with 4 angry children who appear to be on crack today.

It has been a lovely Mother's Day so far. We woke up this morning to the kids piling into the bed with the presents they had gotten me, then we had cereal and I made up some bath goodies for my mom and put them in a bag with pictures of chickens, since we are taking her this next week to pick put 5 newly-laying hens from a nearby farm. Just got confirmation from the Dr's office that yes, the radiologist scanned the wrong area, and Adam will have to come back in and be rescanned to determine whether he is actually clear. I'm glad I read everything that comes in about the cancer. Sheesh! The Dr. has been in surgery all day, though, so we gave to wait to have him write the new ( Read more... )
