It's been a long, long day filming at the studio. It's not just the 12-hour day, although it doesn't help he's been up since 5 - the last days of a shoot are weird, they always feel more intense. In a way the energy is great, but it's also more draining and it makes Zac badly want to go home and play Mario Kart

Every single part of Vanessa's body hurts right now. Her knees hurt, her calves, her arms (oh for the love of all that is holy, her arms) and her back. It's like she's become some crippled old person. She's pretty sure that even her eyelashes hurt

She feels a giddy little swoop in her stomach when he walks in, towering over her and looking kind of tired. She doesn't think this feeling is ever going to go away, and quite frankly, she's okay with that.

She's even okay with him talking with his mouth full. She looks up at him from her spot on the floor and smiles before scoffing. "Someone beat me up? Yeah, right, you know it was all me being them up." She pulls herself off the ground, wincing slightly, and drags herself onto the bed beside him. Nuzzling her cheek against his shoulder, she sighs. He smells good. He's brought food. Things are looking up. "You said you brought sushi?"

As soon as he can reach for her, he does - he doesn't really help her get onto the bed, she can do that on her own, it's more an automatic need to touch her as soon as he has the opportunity - and then puts an arm around her when she settles by his side. He has a stupid tired smile on his face now, he knows it, and he doesn't care. It feels good to have her right here, to kiss her hair and smell the faint trace of her shampoo, and he's long stopped trying to pretend that coming home to her isn't the best thing ever. There's been a lot of good things about filming up here this summer, but getting to stay here with her has made it absolutely amazing
