Can the concept of active love become a living reality? Can it survive the odds?
I see active love lived out in its purest form through intercessory prayer. This love asks nothing of the beloved and survives because it calls no attention to itself, thus making your questions 2, 3, and 4 irrelevant. The key is that this love exists in subordination to a higher love. When we love men made in God's image because we love Him--which we are able to do only because He first loved us--it doesn't matter who they are or what they do with it. We aren't looking for applause or acceptance except from an audience of One.
Has anybody experienced or encountered any kind of active love?Yes, many times over. In every breath I take and beat of my heart, each being a gift of grace. In the substitutionary death of my Lord.
