Although you state this issue is an important one you don't tell us where you stand on the subject. I'll bet people who own property will side with the government or the original land owner, while people who feel entitled, simply because they have a need, will be sympathetic to the farmers.

I think I know where you stand, but have my fingers crossed.

First the place sat empty, another symptom of the economic marginalization of the neighborhood. The owners didn't see a way to make the place profitable, didn't have money to invest, and because the property couldn't serve Mammon, it couldn't serve the community either. So the government took over. The city got hold of the property, paid the private owner something. But did the governmment put the property to use serving the community? No, the tried to put the property to use to serve their own interests in a way that would have been very harmful to the community. Luckily the community organized and stopped the misuse of the property. So, the property fell into the hands of the community. That is, they got the temporary right to use it, while the city held onto the title (more on "entitlement" later ( ... )
