ZxC drabble - "Truth and Lies"
or "Truth On Your Lips"
Or something deep and romatic like that.
Just a random little drabble I thought up in the wee hours of the morning after being inspired by Japanese Z/C fanart sites. Wanted to share the love and fluff and all that with you guys!

Zack spun around toward Cloud "Just admit it! You like me!" he said, pointing to himself and smiling.
"Of course I do. You're my friend," Cloud answered. A rehersed answer, of course.
"That's not what I meant!"
"Then what did you mean?"
Zack crossed his arms, still grinning, "You know what I meant!"
Cloud snorted and looked to the side as he felt a hot blush rush across his face.
"So why don't you just admit it?" Zack asked again, leaning closer to Cloud. Cloud couldn't see it, but he could FEEL Zack grinning at him.
"'cause I don't feel that way."
Zack backed off a bit, "Oh really?"
"I don't like you... like that," Cloud said, head still turned to the side.
"That so?" Zack said, arms still crossed, still grinning with amusement.
Cloud held his breath for a moment, before releasing it with a "...yeah". Why was Zack pushing this? And why did CLOUD have such a problem admitting what was really true? Maybe Zack was just teasing him... if he said "yes", he'd just laugh and tell him it was stupid or he could find someone better or something, and walk off. Right?
"Then look at me and say it. Look at me and tell me you don't like me that way!" Zack wasn't mad... just...
Zack put his arms around Cloud's waist and pulled him close. "Tell me."
Cloud didn't know if it was possible, but he felt like the blush on his face suddenly ran all over his body. He tensed. His heart pounded hard in his chest and his breath caught for a moment. He turned his head to Zack, almost in a jerk, expression quickly changing from shock to, almost hurt. Those eyes... smiling at him. Telling him Zack wasn't joking in the least. "I..." He couldn't get it out. "I... I don't..." he couldn't make himself look Zack in the eyes, and he felt his whole face turning pink. He quickly turned his head back to the side. He couldn't do it.
"Can't do it, huh?" Zack said in a low voice. Cloud could feel his breath.
Cloud didn't answer him. He couldn't. What could he say?
Moments of silence passed, neither man venturing to say more, for fear of discouraging the other from speaking.
Cloud felt a hand gently placed on his cheek. He turned to again face Zack... Zack who was smiling like nothing Cloud had ever seen before. It wasn't a smile of great amusement with the situation, or a smile that would be interrupted by loud laughter any second. It was smile that...
Zack took advantage the way Cloud's lips parted in his captivated stare and kissed him. Gently at first, he wanted to tell Cloud it was ok. Then more passionately, he needed to let Cloud know how he felt. How much he loved him. How truely and deeply he loved him. How passionately he felt that right now he knew he would stay by Cloud's side forever.
Zack was kissing him. It was so sudden, Cloud didn't even realize it was happening until his eyes closed and his lips responded to the warmth and passion of Zack's. His lips could speak all the lies in the world, but he knew Zack could taste the truth on them.
And he didn't mind telling Zack the truth at all. His arm found its way up to rest on Zack's neck and shoulders as he told Zack how he felt too.
Zack eased their kiss and slowly seperated their lips, their mouths, their faces. "See now..." he said in almost a whisper, "that wasn't so hard, was it?"
Cloud's lips once again betrayed him in the truth. "I love you Zack."
Zack stopped and blinked for a second. He hadn't expected Cloud to say it first. "I..."
Before his shyness could kick back in, Cloud cut Zack off and pulled him into another kiss.
Zack wouldn't let their kiss end early, but once it did end, it was his turn. "I love you too, Cloud."
Cloud shared in Zack's loving smile as they rested their foreheads together, both almost wanting to laugh.
