Rating: R
Prompt: 008. Danger
Pairing: Zack/Cloud Strife
Summary: Perhaps having such a friendship in the military wasn't the best choice for either of them. It was mainly, of course, Zack's fault, with those wandering hands he couldn't keep to himself.
The trooper division that Cloud was currently in had been following a SOLDIER unit as backup for the past few days. How regular men could possibly be backup for a division of SOLDIER’s was far beyond him
The march itself was just awful. The dust and sand was blowing in his face, stinging his blue eyes like fire and Cloud was just about ready to fling his boots off; he knew someone had put rocks in there earlier this morning.
Up ahead at the front of the formation he heard the command, “Disperse and fallout!”
There was a collection of “yes” and an assortment of pain filled groans. The last few hours hadn’t been easy, and with the sun burning down on the men’s backs…not Cloud’s idea of a good time.
They set up camp, pitching tents and trying not to give into the temptation to strip all uniform off and cool down. Cloud sat in his tent, rather dejectedly. He blocked out the sounds of the men outside, grumbling and uttering complaints to each other. In his perspective, to grumble took too much effort.
A cadet poked his head in through the tent flap. “Cadet Strife? General Sephiroth has asked for you in the SOLDIER camp.”
Cloud’s head jerked up. “General…?”
To say Cloud was in awe would be just too little. Getting up and straightening his uniform compulsively, he walked out of the tent and headed for the SOLDIER camp, not too far away. “I wonder what the General would want with me?”
As he approached the headquarters, he tried not to glare back at the two SOLDIER’s standing guard outside the entrance. Cloud mentally rolled his eyes as he passed them; SOLDIER’s, all of them were bitches.
Upon entering, the first thing he noticed in the room was Sephiroth. Obviously, he only worshipped the guy from afar for only forever. The tent/room itself was huge, like a tent apartment, but dark and sticky with heat. Not Cloud’s favorite environment.
Sephiroth was reading a book while standing. He raised his eyes to look at Cloud who was staring at him, looking the part of a love struck cow most likely. When his mako green eyes connected with Cloud’s containing a stern expectancy, Cloud blushed and did a hasty salute. “Sir, you asked for me…..sir?”
Cloud winced; his voice always cracked on the last “sir”.
The General put the book down, its cover hidden. The older man motioned for the cadet to sit down with just a flick of his hand. Cloud sat down as fast as he could, feeling as though his legs would give out. Sephiroth smirked before answering, “You have been requested to join a 1st Class SOLDIER scout mission…again.”
Sephiroth opened another book, but this one looked like a military profiler, containing the files of everyone. “This isn’t the first time you’ve been specifically asked to join in, and it’s always by the same person. Care to explain why?”
Cloud “ummed” for a few seconds, mainly because he had no answer; he couldn’t fathom Zack’s reasons for always asking for him. Ok, so maybe there was a reason he knew about…but it wasn’t exactly something he could share with the General. Or anyone for that matter.
He finally gave up and gave a foolish shrug, hoping it would convince Sephiroth to….he didn’t know what. Sephiroth stared at him with hard eyes saying, “I don’t know why he always wants you with the group, but I am beginning to question the-”
The tent flap whipped open and violet eyes flashed brightly around the tent. “Sir, if I can’t have Cloud, then-”
He seemed to notice Cloud sitting there in front of him. He finished his rant rather lamely, “I….will be….depressed?”
The General stared at the 1st Class SOLDIER will amusement in his eyes. “As if you could ever be depressed Zack.” He looked back down at Cloud, not bothering to lower his voice. “Your friend here is our top drunk. No one can beat him in a drinking contest.”
Cloud nodded, pretending that the information was actually news to him. He raised his hand hesitantly, “So does this mean I can go with him on this mission?”
Sephiroth seemed to think about it before turning away, dismissing them both, “Go ahead.”
Zack smirked and grabbed Cloud, almost dragging him from the tent; the Cadet was still somewhat entranced by the General he hero worshipped. Even when they were out of the tent, Cloud continued to look back over his shoulder at the tent. Zack rolled his eyes in exasperation. “Could you be anymore pathetic?”
Cloud seemed to come back to himself, looking up at Zack with a scowl.
“Could you want me more than you do?”
Zack smiled before laughing loudly. “Maybe.”
Cloud stepped closer to his friend as they walked, their hands touching occasionally. “So, about you being the company drinking champion…”
“Yeah?”
“I don’t think you are ever sober anyway.”
Zack’s eye twitched before looking down to meet the blonde’s blue gaze. He snorted at the comment, grabbing his counterparts arm, pulling him into a vacant tent.
Zack tripped over a pillow, falling backwards, pulling Cloud down on top of him. They landed with an “oomph”.
Zack wrapped his arms around the smaller boy and nuzzled his face against his jaw. Cloud arched his neck and tangled his hands in Zack’s hair, feeling the softness of it. Zack sucked the skin of his counterparts neck into his mouth bit down softly, making Cloud shiver.
However, Zack, being Zack, let his hands wander, mainly because he would get sidetracked easily and couldn’t keep his mind at one thing at a time. Cloud enjoyed the feel of his friend’s hand cupping him through his pants but was shocked out of his reverie when he discovered that Zack’s wandering hands had gotten bored and decided to unbutton Cloud’s pants too.
Cloud grabbed the SOLDIER’s strong hands and pulled away…but not completely as always. “Zack…not here.”
Zack cocked his head to the side, looking at his friend curiously. He eyed the blonde for a few seconds before once again trying to rip Cloud’s pants off. Cloud pushed him away once again. Zack sighed and asked, “Why the hell not?”
Cloud looked at him as though it was the easiest thing to understand and that he was stupid for not understanding it. “It’s a tent! You can’t just screw around in a tent! We’re in the middle of camp…we could be kicked out if anyone-”
Zack grabbed Cloud’s chin and pressed his mouth down upon the worried blonde’s whispering, “Don’t worry so much Spikey.”
Cloud would have protested but Zack’s tongue darted in and tangled with his, making him sigh; it was no use with Zack. The bigger boy rolled them over so Cloud was underneath him, their hips thrusting against the others.
In the military, their relationship would have been looked down upon, so they needed to keep it secret at all times. Perhaps the thrill was what attracted both boys in the first place
If anyone had walked by, they could have heard moans of pleasure, soft sighs, muffled cries, and perhaps a few whispers of endearments. However, no such person walked by, so both were safe in their haven together.
There was something about their relationship that brought danger to their lives, knowingly for both. Everyone else was oblivious. And both boys hoped to keep it that way.

AN: Yes, a little strange, too long drabble, but I like it. What do you think of it?
