With the server went all the media we had downloaded - movies, TV shows, etc. The way he had it set up was ridiculously complicated (to me anyway) so I didn't really miss it. I had no idea how to get more, just watch what I had

In the future, use an online backup system. Then you never have to worry about losing everything, I use Crashplan.

I definitely will! It was stupid-head (who runs a tech company bwahaha) who never did. And then of course, I wasn't expecting the bombs that dropped. So yeah. Lesson learned!
