I'm tired of being fat!

Apr 22, 2010 21:53

I'm on my 11th day of this journey folks and I really want to do it this time! I spent half of my 20's (not to mention my life) fat or just generally unhappy with my body. No fucking more!

The kicker came when I went to my 4 year olds first T-ball outing and guess what folks.... I'M THE FAT MOM! It's awful and I don't want to feel this way anymore ( Read more... )

I only gained 20 pounds with Aine and lost all of that but I'm still holding on to 40 pounds from Liam. I am breastfeeding and starting slow. I WILL NOT give up my morning coffee nd trying to do 30 mins a day. I'm going from no excercise to everyday excerise... And I'm still doing housework and chasing around kids. I don't want to burn myself out. I bought some yoplait fat free yogurt and am having that for breakfast. Special K is a great idea. Thanks for responding. Talking about it helps keep me on track!

I'm also drinking nothing but water (cept my coffee). Too many valuable calories otherwise. Haha

Good for you on getting more healthy! I've been thinking about this a lot lately too and while I can't do a lot of exercise because of my back, I can do my Wii-Fit (I love that thing) and change my diet. So I'm going to work on that. I'm trying to get over the "I hate myself and I'm fat" and work on "I need to be more healthy" instead. Your attitude kicks ass ( ... )

That's another reason I want to lose weight. I had gestational diabetes and because of that, I have a greater chance of developing diabetes in the future. F that noise. That sucked. I hated pricking myself and checking the time of when I ate what.

And yes I am small and my name rhymes with Midget. Luckily no one has ever made that connection.
Haha

Just had to comment BC, I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 1/2 years ago.
I had never heard of it before, so I find it interesting to meet other women with the same thing. Right now, mine has been pretty manageable so far. I hope that continues.

That's one of the reasons I wrote my actual weight on here... Then I can be accountable! I downloaded this calorie tracker app for my iPhone and have been using that to check myself. It's pretty cool and is really keeping things in perspective. Right now I'm just focusing on getting myself moving and watching what I eat rather than say the dreaded 'diet' word. This has to be a lifestyle change and I've learned from experience that if I got on a crazy diet and kill myself at a gym I'm gonna quit real quick.

I also would love to be 'diet buddies' just to have somewhere to chat and keep each other going. I joined the almost_babes community on here and plan on posting there and here. Whooo changes!

Personally i think that is the best way to go.....using the diet word is a sure fail .. from my experience.

Zaggy, I wish you luck!
I'm currently trying to lose weight that I gained when my husband was laid off....
(For some reason, I can't stay away from food when my husband is home.)

The only tip I can give is smoothies...
I drink a peanut butter/banana smoothie in the morning (it's about 190 calories) and really fills me up. (Plus, I feel like I am getting a treat!) I've switched to drinking low-fat soy milk and I mainly eat low-fat TV dinners. (My hubby is gone during the week, so I don't do much cooking.) During the week, I watch very closely what I eat, but I let myself eat a bit more on weekends. That way, I don't feel like I am limiting myself too much.

Good luck and keep yourself moving!
(That is the hardest part for me, I hate exercise!)
