Turned in a massive gigantic project and had my second exam this morning, and now I am officially done with two classes. I have a paper to finish writing by friday, then two more exams next tuesday. I feel like all I've been doing lately is giving updates on what I have due and when, so you all probably know my schedule better than I do right now. ( Read more... )

you are not crazy.
american cars suck.
i also am quite fond of feeling like i'm making the car go *myself*...
(hence, constantly hating the fact that i currently drive an automatic. loathesome things).

on another note... my only personal association with columbus is getting stuck in rush hour traffic around that crazy-ass bypass while headed home from dead tour 1990. not the most pleasant of memories.

I've pretty much decided that when I finally get a new car (I've been fantasizing about it for months) it will be a manual and I will force myself to learn to drive it. I know that I will look like a complete idiot trying to drive for the first couple of weeks, but I think it's worth it. And had I not quit at Dillard's to work at Macy's this summer, I could actually afford said new car. Some day.

I went to a wedding recently too, and it made me not so much want to get married, but just think about how I would want to do everything so much differently (no corny reception center, no poofy sparkly dress, no tape-recorded "here comes the bride," etc.) And it was very surprising to me, because the bride is a really punky young girl with hugely gauged ears and platinum blonde/fire-red-streaked hair...but it was a sad, sterile shotgun wedding with her parents groaning and pushing her along. Very sad.

This too is a very real concern. While stained glass windows and beaded dresses and flowers and champagne and fancily folded napkins are all very lovely, what do they have to do with ME?
