Opium, land of the free

My subconcience has not done a great job with creativity lately. Here is why I'm thinking this:

I will relate some incidents or situations that have recently happened and the corresponding song that was stuck in my head.

First of all, what are you going to do about those blisters? Isn't it hard to dance on blisters? I can't even walk on blisters. I love saying the word "blisters!" Can you tell I like the word "blisters?" One time, I had a big blister on my foot. This blister popped. (okay, I'm going to stop saying "blister" now.) So I had a piece of skin hanging from my foot. Not realizing there were still some nerves in the piece of skin that connected the popped blister (oops, I said it again) to my foot, I took a pair of scissors and cut it off.

Holy mother of god. That fucking hurt. Now I don't underestimate the power of a pair of scissors as a weapon.

There's a song that goes, "You are on the thin side, I am on the fat side?" Cool. I gotta get that one.

That Jay quote is hilarious! I've always felt that way about arms and sleeping. They just get in the way. I'm always waking up to a dead arm (or worse, dead arms). I'm such a hypochondriac that every single time this happens, I get up and run around the house hyperventilating ( ... )

I get very proud of my blisters/scars whether they come from dance or not. I realized about sophomore year of high school when I was doing a lot of pointe that I will never have pretty feet, from then on I would have dancer feet. But i really like it... feet with a story to tell--a very dirty story most of the time:) Have you seen Center Stage yet? there's this scene with all the ballerinas getting ready to put on their shoes and they are beating thier shoes with hammers and taping each toe individually and all sorts of outlandish things-- most of which are true but overdramatized. There's an unwritten rule of dancing that if you somehow inhibit yourself from rehersal you are lazy, disloyal, unrehearsed, you know, generally an awful person, so people will do anything to dance on an injury--codine, whatever... Back to blisters. So it's kind of a challange. And I love the pharmacy products and have every possible kind of injury tape. Its so fun. So I carefully wrap up my feet to the point where you can just dance on the tape- you don't ( ... )

Aha! The I'm-tougher-than-all mentality! That's addictive.

Yes, I saw Center Stage. It was cheesy, in a good way.

What do dancer's feet look like?

I feel like there should be a picture involved in this answer. I will work on it.
