How Firm A Foundation - John Rippon

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said,
You, who unto Jesus for refuge have fled?

In every condition, in sickness, in health;
In poverty

I love hymns... :) What a beautiful way to express such profound spiritual truth.

no kidding... that's one of the reasons why I like RUF so much, because we sing mostly, if not all, hymns.

В RUF мы этот гимн тоже пели, а потом, когда вернулся домой, у нас в церкви на украинском! Сейчас читаю твой журнал, и мучает ностальгия по RUF и моим друзьям, которых я уже лет 5 не видел.

When and where were you in RUF? I was so surprised to receive your message (and even more surprised when I could understand it!). Where are you living now? I'm terribly curious for so many reasons, I guess because of the Russian and then RUF. If you like, you can email me at chertanova@hotmail.com

Blessings, Zaichka! :-)

I was in the RUF in 1996-98 when I studied in the U of Alabama-Tuscaloosa. Do you know Billy Joseph?
Also, you may have heard about Bebo Elkin, Paul Alexander, Richard Pratt - these were the people I've met quite a few times at the RUF conferences, or when they travelled to Odessa and Kyiv after '98. You also may have heard about Doug & Masha Shepherd, the ones who organize the Odessa Project with Odessa Presbyterian Church (http://www.odessachurch.org). After my graduation, I moved to Odessa and took part in this project in '98. Then I worked in Kyiv for about 5 years. Now I am in Moscow (moved here just a few months ago).

PS: By the way, I still have the Texas A&M RUF CD with worship songs! :-)

I don't know Billy Joseph. I've heard of Bebo Elkin, he is still going to the conferences and such, the other two I don't recognise, but that doesn't mean anything, there are a lot of RUF people I don't know of. I didn't know about the Odessa church. I really want to go back to Russia again. I lived in Moscow for 5 years when I was a kid. Where do you live in the city? Do you work for a Russian firm or foreign? When I was there, there weren't any PCA churches in Moscow... are there any now? Where are you going to church?

Texas A&M RUF made a new CD last year and it sounds better then the old one. I can send you it if you'd like.

Do you know Andy Bartus? He was in Ukrain and Russia the past couple of summers doing missions. I don't remember if he worked with MTW or not.

I'm studing Russian now at school and hopefully will be able to go back to Russia or to one of the other CIS countries or Poland or Ukrain. God knows the plans He has for me and I just need to be patient.
