One - ouch

Ok... This is from my very first RP session... It was just over two weeks ago, and it was a little.. slow, so it's shorter, and not as interesting.

I woke up hungry as the sun crested the nearby mountains and warmed my body. I immediately set out to find something to eat, and soon caught a Fluff'nuff unawares. For the remainder of the morning I skinned and dried the poor little beast for consumption and travel. ((A Fluff'nuff is like a rabbit, but has wings for ears))
I spent the time absorbed in my thoughts - the previous day my sister's voice spoke to me, imploring me to seek out someone from the fire nation that would be able to give me the information to defeat them.
I set out shortly before noon, finding my way to a stream that I knew well. I wasn't in any huge hurry, so I stopped at a pond and caught one of a pair of rather large trout. ...It was early afternoon by the time I was finished preparing the fish for travel.
The remainder of the day until late afternoon was spent traveling north around the mountains to the vale leading into the fire nation.
I was paying close attention to the sounds of the forest, and so I heard the voices as soon as I came within earshot. Not thinking that I would be in any danger, I approached cautiously, and hid behind the trees as I got close enough to see.
Two girls were on the ground, one kneeling over the other, who was apparently burned quite badly. Two young men were walking away from them, perpendicular to my position. I recognized the robes they wore as those of fire nation mages. It wasn't hard to tell, the robes we nearly completly red and bore many different flame-inspired symbols.
The two men were coming close enough to see that I was there, so I ducked quickly in an effort to hide.
However one of the men saw something move out of the corner of his eye, “Who's there?” I heard him call out. I saw the other start to prepare a spell, recognizing it as the start of a sleep spell.
I ducked quickly behind the tree I was kneeling against, bringing me into full view of the two young women, who were facing away.
“I know you're there, come out.” I heard one of them say, and suddenly I heard a bolt hit the tree I was hiding behind.
Knowing I was in trouble, I came around the other side of the tree and backed away so that I could see both the two men, and the kneeling woman who was looking at me by this point.
I put my hands out at my sides to show that I held no weapon.
I noticed that one of them held up his hand, which was glowing, and pointed it in my direction. I didn't even see his companion recasting the sleep spell...

I awoke sitting with my back against a tree with my hands tied above my head to the trunk. My weapons and pack were nearby, but out of reach.
One of the men, who I recognized as the one with the glowing hand, came over as I moaned awake.
“What were you doing in the woods?” He asked.
When I looked up our eyes locked. Despite his stern expression, I could see that he was blushing, and felt my own cheeks redden. I smiled as I looked into his beautiful hazel eyes and smiled.
“I'm... just a traveler.” I responded.
“What is your name?” He shot back, somewhat flustered.
“Kaleb” I answered quickly, “Who are you?”
“Kraven” he answered, taken aback, “What are your intentions here?”
“I'm just passing through, like I said.” I lipped back.
Eventually Kraven seemed convinced enough that I was little threat and untied me. I eyed his twin maces kept at his waist as I rubbed the circulation back into my wrists. He introduced me to his emo companion, Jude, and the two girls, who's names I quickly forgot. The wind suddenly blew sharply, and I swore I heard the hints of a voice. The others appeared to be only mildly annoyed by the sudden gust. The wind blew again, this time making us loose our balance, and I heard distinctly Aldona's voice “Now is the time...”
I started to pick up my equipment and depart, catching bits of conversation from my captors. Apparently they were on a mission.... I couldn't think of anything to really do or say, so I questioned them about what they were doing, but the most I got out of them was that they were there to 'kill things'.
I started to walk away, and indulged in a quick look over my shoulder, and caught Kraven looking at me. I smiled and turned around, remembering my sister's advice. “I could help you know.”
Kraven seemed to war with himself, and turned to Jude and spoke a few low words, then came over to speak with me.
I asked a few more questions, gaining little information, but he agreed to allow me to accompany him.
Suddenly his pack gave a shiver, and I was introduced to his familiar, a pseudo-dragon.
He seemed surprised that it had snuck into his pack, but we decided to let it ride.
We started walking, and I commented on how casually Kraven was letting me walk beside him - Jude and the girls had stayed behind. He shrugged and retorted that I wasn't a threat.
I subtly peppered him with seemingly casual questions, and found out Kraven was from a school in the fire nation that taught young men and women to use magic for use in the military, like most of the other schools in the fire nation. They were on a test of some sort, and weren't allowed any outside help at all. Which is why Kraven enjoyed the idea of my help, I assumed. Anyhow, they were simply to survive for a full day without aid...
Within an hour of casual walking, a pack of troglodytes dashed across the path in front of us. I already had my bow out, and saw Kraven take aim with a crossbow in front of me. I took aim at the leader and was about to let go, but I caught a glimpse of Kraven's ass as I was about to shoot.... and let the arrow drop to the ground.
Kraven's bolt hit a troglodyte in the shoulder, knocking it down.
The trogs stopped and started running at us after realizing they out numbered us. I took aim at the nearest of the 6 running beasts and hit one in the arm, barely slowing it.
Dropping the bow, I unsheathed my rapiers as Kraven swung at the nearest two trogs, missing horribly. Remembering my first arrow, I said nothing, and slashed out at the nearest enemy, barely missing. My second sword caught another a glancing blow, and the one I missed took a swipe at me, missing and falling to the ground behind me. But the second caught me full force in the chest with it's claws, knocking me back.
The three attacking Kraven took swipes, but Kraven managed to back away enough to escape injury.
Infuriated, I took a wild feint at the standing foe, following through with my second rapier and causing a critical wound, killing it.
From the corner of my eye I notice Kraven take out the foes surrounding him in a deadly spin with his maces extended.
The trog I injured with the arrow reached him and took a swipe, missing.
I turned to take out the trog behind me, expertly cutting into it's flesh, but failing to kill it. Angered, it attacked back, barely missing. I heard a sound behind me, and turned to find that the last troglodyte, which Kraven had felled with the crossbow bolt, had come up behind me.
It struck fiercely, and everything went black....

Uh... yeah, I don't remember the fight so well. I rolled *really* badly, hence my poor attacks and dodging...
