Death of Dragon

Wizards of the Coast announced they would relinquish Paizo Publishing's license to print the two official D&D magazines, Dragon and Dungeon. Even though I stopped subscribing to Dragon years ago, it still feels like the end of an era. Cards would be handy for DMing for sure! I would also like a good example of a full D&D session. The guides have example play, but they don't include everything. It would be cool if there was a sample game that included all the rules, maybe have it take about 5 pages or so.

I liked your statement about the ideal 90's gaming experience. Seems like that whole era was all about the 'storyteller' and then eventually the horrors of LARPing in purple capes trying to befriend people with dice rolls...

Yes, forget the roleplaying advice in the DMG. I can't remember all that it says, but most of it isn't support by the rules, so it's not something enforcable except by a) social contract, b) happy coincidence, or c) a whip-wielding DM.

A sample game would be nice. After playing and running d20 a few times, I've decided that its a great system marred by both an attempt to add in a bit of "role vs. roll" playing support (which is a flawed versus anyway, but I won't get into that here), and some needlessly complicated combat options.

This is not related to D&D. Thank you SO MUCH for introducing me to that cool Star Wars store! I can't wait to go back. Now that Toys R Us no longer has a vast selection of figures I'm so thrilled to have a place semi-close by that has lots to choose from.
