Actually, aren't there A: many more variations of what the number is in different versions of the manuscripts the number of the beast and B: 616 is only thought to be the number by some historians just because it's the numerical represenation of Nero Caesar and 666 is the more agreed upon by historians? I dunno. Maybe I'm wrong.
