by the way, thank you very much for all of everything that I should be thanking you for. I hope the world bends more towards your will in the future. and it will.
the key thing is, I DO know this community very well, and I love the community in a lot of ways, but I also see where Xaq is coming from. It's all about being open-minded. We should ALL be working on that.
I feel deep within my bones that you are wrong about this, and you'll be amazed at how much improv in Austin has blossomed in 3 short years. I put all my available energy into growing the community/my skills/my troupe, and I know loads of other people who do as well. I do it because I love improv, and I love the people who do improv with me. And as long as we are motivated and inspired by that passion, the community will succeed.
Best of luck finding a community you feel love and communion with in Santa Fe. Maybe you already have one.
Thank you. I hope to god you're right. I think that if more resources are given to the AIC to advertise all the shows as one, rather than a bunch of troupes only pimping their stuff haphazardly, you could be right. They reap the benefits (24+ shows a year) but feel that it is a "raw deal" if they actually have to pay to perform. If the payment goes to a good cause like getting bigger audiences through AIC advertising (which seems like it would be much more effective), I see this mentality as selfish or even spoiled. I'm sure that the lens

Way to go Xaq, you turned this into an improv thing when it's everything but. To remind myself: Love and healing to those who desperately need it. I won't forget you guys, nor will I let my best wishes get eclipsed.
don't worry too much. i heard from a fortune cookie that things generally unfold the way they're supposed to and it's usually for the best... sans possibly one or two other people.
