Why do most Liberal Pagans get upset when their opinions are challenged, and most Moderate and Conservative Pagans don't?

We're used to being disagreed with. :P

So true.

And although I've seen some Republicans do it, I am alarmed that so many liberal types have no problem with completely demonizing the opposition (so to speak). It's not that conservatives have a different viewpoint, they're just evil. "Republicans for Voldemort" or "Bush is a Nazi" or what have you. If someone has it in their head that conservatives are muhahaha evil, they're going to get upset the minute a rational, educated conservative counterpoint is put before them.

Haha, that statement is true even if you take out the whole 'Pagan' part of it. I love it. :)

It's worse in the Pagan community, though, since it's almost assumed that you'll be Liberal if you're Pagan. Being a college aged Pagan is all the worse. Oi.

To make the whole problem worse, many Pagans today seem to forget that acceptance doesn't mean you have to agree with what someone says. It definitely throws people off when someone exercises the right of disagreement.

That's exactly why I always say that one of my pet peeves is mindless liberals, as opposed to liberals who have thought about what they believe and can back up their position.

Anyway, I suppose I'm a liberal-ish pagan, but I just don't plain care if someone disagrees with me or not because my spirituality is personal to me and I am the only person that matters when it comes to my spirituality.
