I've found that if you stop friending people on LJ for six months then your friends list goes pretty quiet. I mean, if everybody even just kept posting but didn't read their flist for a while it'd get a bit boring because you wouldn't have the validation of having your entries commented on. Just a theory, but I stopped LJ-ing for a while there and my filter of people here who aren't friended on the other journal is quiet as anything. My other flist is busier, but I almost never post so I don't make new friends and so it's only on skip=40 every day. The people who were active a few years ago seem to have stopped posting, though.
I was on IRC up to about a year ago, and it was quite active. But I'd been in the same channel for a couple of years and got bored so I left.
hmm I see your point. I do enjoy the comments, especially in a post where I'm actually asking questions rather than just making statements. I honestly don't really have the time to be tracking down an IRC channel I'd enjoy chatting in, I was more or less whining about the fact that I can't just jump back into the channel and find all my old friends just sitting there they same way they always were and just catch up with them that easily.
Well, except that most of the people who I used to chat with are actually still there... that's a little sad. :) Still, whatever floats their boat. I don't know what I'd say to them these days.
I haven't used Mirc regularly for 9 months now, since my partner and I moved house. I went back in once, my channel is dead but the other one I frequented wasn't. I think leaving a coming back is a great way to find out who's there solely for your good times, and who's willing to stick around.

You might be wondering why I friended you?
This is going to sound VERY strange, considering you don't know me from a packet of chips. but here goes anyway. I spotted your posts due to being extremely bored and browsing random latest entries. The main reason I read it was the word AVON jumped out at me as I was scrolling. I see you need extra cash and that's the reason you were mentioning it. So I checked your user info and you're in Brisvegas. I am too and I'm also in the networking/party plan business. If you are at all interested, in earning extra cash via selling ladies clothing and lingerie (www.ucw.com.au) please email me (sattwater@optusnet.com.au) and I'd be happy to have a chat. Cheers, Shannon
