Honey, I don't think those cravings ever really go away. They just get easier to ignore. It's been about 5 years for me now since I smoked and I still get cravings. Funnily enough, I've been getting cravings to smoke whilst kicking the diet coke.
quitting coca-cola (the real kind) was one of the hardest things i've ever done and i failed the first time i tried. now i haven't had any in about a year and a half. i did go onto drinking other soft drinks - lift, sprite, fanta - but i'm hardly drinking them at all these days because the high-fructose corn syrup is so BAD for you. but nothing's as evil as the 2000 other ingredients in coke. i, too, find tea and coffee drinkers hypocrits when they just don't get it. and it's even harder to give up because of the incredible sugar (or in your case - nutrasweet) content, which is also addictive. and the 2000 other chemicals in it, some of which must be there expressly to addict us. i have no doubt about that. keep on truckin' and you'll be diet coke free in no time. don't ever look back. try orange juice for sugar if not too headachey. try chocolate for caffeine if you Just Must. good luck! x
Thankyou honey. It's great to know that someone understands how horrible it is. The acid in orange juice just doesn't agree with me at the moment. I've mostly been drinking water, interspersed with sugary mineral waters, trying to go for more water than anything though. Thanks for the chocolate tip, that did me well yesterday!
