Good game on Wii shock

I've recently been playing quite a lot of Xenoblade Chronicles. It turns out that the reviews are correct and it really is one of the best JRPGs of this generation. It's also on the Wii only. Which is strange.

I had to get my Wii back from leathellin to play it, which indicates how little I've used the Wii recently.

You and everyone else. Turns out nobody wants to develop for low-spec machines. (Well, except al_fruitbat!)

Sadly, a port is probably unlikely, as the developer is owned by Nintendo.

Though interestingly, there has been a lot of speculation that Xenoblade is so good precisely because it's on the lower spec machine: with SD only graphics, it's probably cheaper to include the huge amount of content that is characteristic of a good JRPG.

Ha! Asset costs are indeed a problem - could be some truth in that.
