First of all, I had an awesome time, both at Disneyland and with Lauren. I'll put the details in a cut so I won't bother everyone with the long post.
My trip to LA was... well no other way to put it, LONG and BORING. Though I did put my nice sound system to good use, I think I partially defened myself for awhile there. Oh yeah, and I left at midnight too, forgot to mention that part, I was originally supposed to go home and sleep for eight hours... but I had only been awake for six and was no where near tired. So I just packed up my stuffs and headed out the door, pleasently leaving Tucson behind me... although it took me a few tries to find I-10.. hehe...
After getting lost in LA and then waking up my parents at 8 in the morning, I finally got to the hotel. They "made" me take them out for coffee and breakfest for making them wake up so early, I didn't mind though. The rest of that day we went and looked at Downtown Disney for shopping planning, by this time I was starting to get a little... tired. I had grabbed some of my Mom's coffee beans and was popping them to keep awake long enough. Then we got back to the hotel room and I... took a nap for a little bit. When I had... "risen" from my sleep, my sister was there. Most of the rest of that evening is kind of a blur do to exhaustion.. but the next morning we all woke up and went to Disneyland. Yeah!!
Disneyland was the usual happiness that it usually is for my family. Though it did take my brain a little while to come out of military stress mode. We went on our usual happy rides, Pirates of Carribeen, the Haunted Mansion (which had been nightmare before christmaized), Indiana Jones, and we were also able to go on Space Mountain again. It had been closed the last time we were there because they were remodeling it. It was uber sweeeet. Though the line for it was insane as hell, it was worse than splash mountain and that one is always long.
On Sunday Kris came an joined us as well, of course I had to drive up to North Hollywood to get him, but I didn't mind. It was good to hang out with Kris again, and who knows when I'll see him next what with all his movieness and all (saw his movie set pass in his costume, uber sweeet). We had a good old time with Mr. Blount with us. When we got to the park, I called up the family and they had told us that they were in the line for Tower of Terror, we asked them to wait but we didn't get to the ride in time to go with them. So me and Kris just went by ourselves. It was slightly amusing when the ride operator told us "anything you don't want lost in an alternate dimension please keep inside the elevator, this includes loved ones as well." At this point Kris started to reach toward my shoulders to grab me, we just kind of looked at each other, coughed, and enjoyed the ride. Which gave me the idea of what it's like to be a yo-yo. After we got off we found that the ride had... jumbled up Mom a tad.. we waited with Dad and Darb while we waited for Mom to come out of the bathroom. She didn't get sick.. but she just needed a rest. The rest of the day was a lot better. While the girls were out chilling after the ride, Kris, Dad, and myself went on the circus wheel, on one of the cars that swung back and forth. THAT was definetly an interesting ride, we were confused about the people in a car below us that were yelling, they weren't even in a gondala that moved, bah, wussies. There was much fun for the rest of the day as well, we were able to see Fantasmic without too much trouble, sometimes I love being taller than most people, hehe. After we left the park I drove Kris back to North Hollywood, and then proceded to drive back to the hotel... it was around 2am at this point and I was doing some nice lucid driving on the way back hehehe...
All in all. Awesomeness.
Driving back to Tucson on Tuesday was as boring as it was the first time, though this time I did it in the evening and was getting a little tired near the end. I had stayed over at Kris's for awhile before I left LA. At one point I was tweaking out because of the gas light and the fact that I was in the middle of nowhere. THAT could have been bad, but I made in back in one piece. Came home, did laundry, packed some fresh clothes and headed out once more into the world on thurs. (note: all through this I hadn't been shaving, I had been trimming it but I had a nice gotee growing... which I get to shave off soon *sigh*)
Then I took my 4 hour plane flight out to Michigan. Man was that a boring flight, I'm just glad I brought a book with me or it would have been just... blah. Then I went and got my rental car and drove my happy self down to Monroe. Though it took me three tries just to get out of the airport. Sheesh what a crazy place. Then I got turned around in Monroe looking for my hotel and called Lauren to see where I was, and it turned out that I was only a couple blocks from her Dad's house and she told me to come over and get her. To which I happliy obliged. I managed to find her house and she was sitting out on the front porch with her kitty Rosa. I stumbled on my way over to see her but I made it to her in one piece. My legs were kinda feeling like jelly. We went in and she introduced me to her Dad, who I talked to for a bit while she went and got together her stuff to got to her Mom's.
We made it to her Mom's without any problems though we were both nervous and happy. Shadow, her large puppy loved me as soon as I got in the door. Which made me feel a better, Shadow doesn't like bad people, her Mom liked me a lot too. We were both so nervous it's pretty funny looking back at it now. At one point things were... progressing, and then her brother came home. We then had to go to the bar to bring her Mom back, but she wasn't ready to go yet, and Lauren couldn't stay in the bar so we went back to my hotel room. Checking in was a little unsettling because all I had to do was say I had a reservation under Gray and they just slid the key to the room to me, not asking for ID or anything. We then made in to my room and... umm... I really don't think I have to go into details. I was supposed to get her back to her Mom's by midnight but we lost track of the time.. *cough* I got her back and got a little bit of a talking to from her Mom. We said our goodbyes for the night and I went back to my room.
The next day we went out together to the mall to do her birthday shopping with the money she got from her family, and I got her a nice top from hot topic. We walked together, had lunch together, and had a good time together. Afterward we went back to her Mom's and watched some anime together and eventually made in back to my hotel room again... *cough*
On Saturday we went pumpkin shopping for her Mom's house, we had a good time there... once we eventually got there, we got a tad lost on the way there, but Lauren asked for directions and we made our way there. We looked at all the animals they had at the farm (yes we were at an actually pumpkin farm) we picked up some good pumpkins for her Mom's and then Lauren looked through all the arts and crafts they had in the barn, she picked out a few things to make a decoration for her Grandma, and we also picked up some cookies. They were very good cookies *drool*. On our way out we took in some pumpkin artwork they had put together. I totally geeked out at the Star Wars pumpkins they had. There was a Yoda pumpkin guy, Vader, Luke, Leia, R2, 3PO, oh so cool. Then we made our way back to her Mum's where Lauren started putting up decorations. Though I kept interupting/distracing her heh *grin*, and as expected afterward we went back to the hotel room together, at one point in the night we got a little hungry and went to the TA travel center across the way and grabbed some munchies before going back to to the room, where we stayed until I had to take her home for the night.
Sunday we went up to Ann Arbor to check out Wizziwigs, that was a fun store. I didn't get anything, I was attempting to conserve monies. Lauren got herself a hello kitty mug and charm that she was going to make into a necklace. Then we walked together through the Michigan campus making our way to "Pinball Pete's" an arcade that was there. It was really nice walking holding Lauren's hand as we walked across the campus, calming almost. We made it to the arcade and were going to play DDR for awhile, until we both realized that we only had enough for one game hehe. We played together, I was soooo out of practice sheeeesh. We then went to rest at a table in the arcade when I spotted something that amused me greatly. A Dungeons and Dragons arcade game huaah... it was actually pretty fun too, and really indepth for an arcade game too, I was quite impressed with it. Then we started making our way back across the campus to get something to eat together. We went to a place called the Cottage Inn, it was quite nice and they put us in a booth on the second floor in an area where no one else was, it was actually quite romantic. After our meal we drove back to Monroe... and the hotel room.. for a little while. Then we went to Lauren's Dad's for her birthday dinner. It wasn't until we were going there however that we noticed... that I had a very large hickey on my neck. I did my best the rest of the evening to hide it from her Dad and his girlfriend. We had a excellent dinner of steak, oh man... that was a goooood steak. After dinner we... went back to the hotel... again, then I took her home and stayed for a little while, I helped put her speakers back together on her computer after a little bit of cable searching through the basement and then we just sat next to each other, holding each other as we listened to music coming from her computer. Quite a bit later I went back to my room to sleep.
Monday.. I arrived early in the morning, but we really didn't want to do too much that day since that was the day I had to leave, when I got there we were both a little tired so we went up to her room and slept in her bed for a little while together. Mmmmm... that was comfy and happy... until her brother came in and woke us up. Then we went downstairs and watched more anime together, lying together the whole time. Before I left we went to go see Lauren's sister Gretchen, she wanted to have her see me before I left and see what she thought of me. We were only able to visit for a little while though because Gretchen had to go to a meeting... and I had to leave... we bid farewell to her sister and I drove her back to her Mom's. She didn't want me to leave... and I didn't want to either.. but I couldn't stay any longer. So I held her as she cried and then wiped her tears away. Then I went out to the car and slowly drove away, keeping my eyes on her for as long as a could... it felt like I was being pulled away from a part of me as I left...
Then I returned my car, got on my plane and flew home..
and to fully clarify things, Lauren and I are back together, and likely for good this time. As soon as I move off base into an apartment we're going to work on moving her out here to live with me. She'll be coming to see more for Christmas as well since I'm not going to be able to go anywhere for it this year.
and that's it... I'm sure I left some stuff out of there somewhere.. but it was a long trip, sue me.
Peace out all!
