Lost Book

Aug 10, 2006 14:19

I loaned my copy of Peter Norvig's "Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach" to someone, and I've forgotten whom. If it's you, o rif you know who it is, please tell me! I've wanted to look something up in it at least three times this week.

UPDATE Found.

It's one of my favorite textbooks of all time, edged out only slightly be "Advanced Programming in a UNIX Environment" by Stevens, and "Introduction to the Theory of Computation" by Sipser. There's so much information in that book, and it's so easy to understand, I can't imagine using any other AI book.

I'm still kicking myself that I didn't buy Sipser. Its on the list of books to buy at some point. Its not something I'd use everyday but when you need it, you really need it.

It's expensive for so small a book! I had lost it about a year ago and went to powells to replace it. Changed my mind when I saw the price. Apparently, really useful computer books that are small cost as much as useless ones that are huge. Who'd've thunk?

I seem to recall inheiriting an extra copy of Russell and Norvig from an ex-roommate. If you want it (and I can still find it), please take one of my copies! It would make me so happy to see that second copy going to someone who'll appreciate it.
