Chameleon
Sometimes I feel like a chameleon. Not because I can change who am at will -- oh, how glorious that would be -- but because I soak up my surroundings, and turn into them. Piano ownership is expensive, but worth it
Had my piano tuned this morning. Due to the "it was free" and "there's external damage" nature of the piano, I decided to get a tuner who was also a piano mechanic. So, I was walking back to the car from the street fair on Saturday when I notice a guy with a boom mic in his hands. There is now a grand piano in my living room. It's mine. And it's pretty. There will be pictures soon.
Anyone know of a good tuner and/or piano mechanic? It obviously needs a tuning, having just been moved, and I'd like a professional to look at it and tell me what work needs to be done.

House Swarming!
water451, patterson_ar, and I just moved into a lovely house in Wedgewood. Because we're crazy and need an incentive to finish unpacking everything, we're having a house swarming party on Saturday, May 6th. Oversimplification: Cause and Effect
I think there's a huge rift between what people think causality is, and what it really is. For instance, we're trained to think that the entire world consists of sequences of "cause and effect"-type scenarios: A causes B which causes C which cases D, etc. But, that's really the exception, and not the norm -- really, it's "everying in the world" ( Read more... ) -
