Bleach drabbles repost, part 2

Mar 17, 2008 23:45

It went without saying that it wasn't always sunny in Ichigo's inner world. But it was always daytime.

Well. Almost always. Night fell every time Shirosaki touched him. Ichigo tried not to question why, but the fact remained.

When Ichigo reached out to him, the sun set. When Shirosaki grabbed him and hauled him in for a rough, demanding kiss, twilight fell. When he shoved Ichigo against the side of the nearest skyscraper, the sky turned black. And when Shirosaki fucked Ichigo till he came screaming his "nightmare's" name, the glass beneath them reflected the light of the full moon.

Title:  Naturally Beautiful
Word Count:  249
Rating:  G
Summary:  gissia prompted me for Ishida, Orihime--tattoos.  Orihime has a question for Ishida.

"Uryu? Hello?" Ishida looked up at the sound of Orihime's voice and found her face inches from his own.

"Gah! Orihime! Where did you come from?" he cried, suddenly flustered. She giggled.

"From the school, silly. You're on the roof, remember?"

Uryu pushed his glasses back up from where they had fallen down his nose. "Ah. Yes, of course. Was there something you needed?"

Orihime beamed at him like he'd offered her the moon. Uryu tried not to wonder what it would feel like to be that happy.

"Yes!" she exclaimed. "I wanted to ask you what tattoo I should get."

"T-tattoo?"

"Yes! I was talking to Renji and-"

Ishida interrupted her before the combination of Orihime's imagination and Renji's stupidity could break his brain. "I don't believe you need a tattoo at all, much less anything as extensive as Renji's. After all, he got his in order to be visually distinctive among the uniformity of the Gotei 13. You, on the other hand, are naturally beautiful."

He realized what he'd just said a fraction of a second before Orihime did. "Really? You think I'm beautiful?"

"I didn't mean-" Uryu realized how that sounded and cut himself off. Orihime's face fell.

"You don't?"

"No! I mean, I do, but-"

"Thank you, Uryu! Oh! I have to go tell Tatsuki. See you later, Uryu!"

Just like that, the one-girl whirlwind of sunshine was gone as quickly as she'd come. Uryu blinked, feeling a little shell-shocked. "You're welcome...?"

Title:  In Vino Veritas
Word Count:  141
Rating:  Kind of on the G/PG borderline
Summary:  olinek prompted me for Byakuya/Ichigo--sake.  The title is a Latin saying that means, if memory serves, "there is truth in wine."  Or, in this case, sake.

Byakuya had almost drunk enough sake to admit that he was a little out of his depth. Given a little more, he might even be willing to admit that the situation he currently found himself in was a bit-alright, fine, completely out of his control. But much to Byakuya's consternation, Ichigo had his hands on the reins, and he didn't seem to have drinking on his mind.

"Last chance to say no, Byakuya," Ichigo whispered in his ear.

Had he been sober, Byakuya would have said no long before he found himself flat on his back in his own garden with Ichigo's body covering his. As it was, the sake lowered his defenses just enough for his true feelings to slip past his lips rather than the ones he would publicly admit. "Why," he said softly, "would I do that?"

Title:  Blame it on the Moon
Word Count:  159
Rating:  kind of on the G/PG borderline
Summary:  olinek's second prompt was for Byakuya/Ichigo--moon.  So, this is the same scene as the previous drabble, from Ichigo's point of view.

Ichigo hadn't had nearly as much sake as Byakuya had-hadn't touched a drop, in fact, thanks to the captain's usual adherence to the letter of the law. He still felt drunk off Byakuya's mere presence.

He blamed it on the moon. In the moonlight, Byakuya looked positively ethereal. Ichigo couldn't help but touch him, just to prove to himself that Byakuya wasn't some sort of spirit who would just disappear when he wasn't looking.

He didn't know quite how they'd ended up on the ground with Byakuya beneath him. He didn't take the time to question that, just as he didn't question the burning need for more, closer, now that suddenly rose within him. All Ichigo needed to know was that he wasn't alone in this. He leaned in close and whispered in his captive's ear.

"Last chance to say no, Byakuya." His breath caught in his throat until Byakuya's reply released it.

"Why would I do that?"

Title:  Celebrations and Interrogations
Word Count:  379
Rating:  PG
Summary:  olinek also prompted me for Byakuya/Ichigo--Ichigo's birthday.  Ichigo brings Byakuya home for his birthday celebration.  Too bad he forgot about his crazy family.

Byakuya's experience with birthday celebrations was admittedly limited, but Ichigo's still had him confused.

"Ichigo..."

"GET YOUR DAMN HANDS OFF ME YOU-"

"Ichigo!"

"Sorry Byakuya, this'll just take a minute. CALM DOWN OR I'M GONNA THROW YOU OUT THE WINDOW!"

"Don't worry, they do this all the time." Byakuya looked down into the face of Ichigo's dark-haired sister. She smirked up at him. "I'm Karin, by the way, and that's Yuzu over there. I don't think Ichigo got around to introducing us before Dad jumped him."

"No, he did not," Byakuya said, allowing a small smile to grace his features. "However, I could not know your brother for long and remain unaware of your existence."

"Hah! I bet." Karin's look turned abruptly calculating. "Well, Dad and Ichigo are going to be otherwise occupied for a while and Yuzu's still busy in the kitchen. To pass the time, how about you tell me just what your intentions are towards my big brother."

Byakuya's smile briefly threatened to overtake his face completely. "I believe I can see a family resemblance. To answer your question, I," and he really didn't want to admit this to anyone, much less Ichigo's too-perceptive younger sister, but, "I am not sure."

"No?"

"No."

"So?"

"I do not understand," Byakuya said. He tried to maintain a calm, even tone of voice, but from the way Ichigo's and Isshin's heads snapped around in his direction, he suspected he hadn't quite succeeded.

Karin sighed. "I'm startin' to see a resemblance myself, Captain Oblivious. You--"

"Dad! Karin! Can you come help me in the kitchen?"

"Be right there, Yuzu! Come on, Dad. Yuzu wants to give the boys time to get their stories straight."

Byakuya sensed Ichigo come up behind him. He stopped only a breath away, so close Byakuya could feel the heat of his body. "You're blushing," he murmured.

"Hn."

Ichigo laughed. "I still haven't been able to answer Rukia, either. Until I can do that, I won't ask the same of you."

Byakuya considered that. "Very well. I accept your proposal. Shall we rejoin your family now?" Ichigo grimaced.

"Yeah. Great. Do me a favor and don't say the word proposal around my father. EVER."

Byakuya didn't even try to fight his smile this time.

Title:  Friendship
Word Count:  170
Rating:  G
Summary:  mitsukaimizuno prompted me for Ichigo/Rukia/Renji--friendship.  Rukia and Renji think about friendship while Ichigo thinks about his friends.

Rukia had once allowed herself to call very few people friends. Associations within her division were one thing, but it wasn't seemly for a Kuchiki to be constantly slumming with commoners. And if she couldn't be a good friend to Renji, then at least she could be a good Kuchiki for her brother.

Renji tried to pretend he couldn't make friends. Comrades were fine, drinking buddies were better. Friends were impossible. Even if they weren't, he knew better. Friends never stayed; everyone left in the end. It was better to just avoid the hurt.

Ichigo loved Rukia and Renji with every fiber of his being, but sometimes he wondered about them. They weren't stupid, he knew that much. They weren't too young to know any better, like he sometimes was. Yet the simplest concepts-like the fact that he wasn’t going anywhere-seemed to escape them. He just accepted that there were some things he'd never get about them, and resolved to be there until they were ready to understand.

Title:  The Diplomatic Approach
Word Count:  130
Rating:  PG
Summary:  mitsukaimizuno prompted me for Ichigo/Rukia/Renji--something with them fighting together.  Ichigo, Rukia and Renji discuss how to handle an unexpected situation.

Ichigo, Rukia and Renji stood back to back against, as usual, nearly insurmountable odds.

"Now what?" Ichigo asked flatly. For one reason or another, Renji and Rukia had been unable to leave Soul Society for months, and he was NOT happy to see their attackers.

"You even gotta ask?" Renji said, grinning savagely.

"Misplaced aggression? From you two? Get out." Rukia's snarking did little to cover up the fact that she was no less thrilled than her boys at the interruption.

"We gonna stand here all night or are we gonna tear these bastards to pieces?" Renji snarled, already moving to release Zabimaru.

"I vote mass dismemberment." Zangetsu began to glow in Ichigo's hands.

"You would, wouldn't you?" Rukia asked rhetorically. "Fine. Mass dismemberment it is. Dance, Sode no Shirayuki!"

Whew!  That's all of them.
