My days of being a Dari language student have come to an end. (Yes, I actually did learn a bit of Dari.)  Now its time to prepare for a one year all expense paid trip to Afghanistan.  I will be working on a few items in my spare time.  Getting back in to shape (the shape I imagine in my head) and learning the Guitar & Ukulele ( Read more... )

کمی زبنی دری درم. زبنی دریم خوب نیست.

Unfortunately, I worked more on my speaking than typing. Now I have to figure out how to import a Farsi or Dari keyboard into my Mac so that I can teach myself how to type. Oh, and my spelling is HORRIBLE in Dari.

Right you are! I can read a little and write a little less. Currently, speaking is my strongest weak point. I have found that transliteration incorporates all of the individual's accent, so from one person to another it varies. So, I have tried to read without transliteration. It has helped some. Hopefully, at some point I will be able to think fully in Dari, instead of translating from Dari to English and back again.

Rippin & Shreddin, Kid.

I think I'm going to have to replace the WD40 for a Mai Tai. Or, come up with the "R&S Special #7".
