Dreams and PMS

I read an article years ago that said it was common for women to have nightmares the week prior to their period. The article also comented that it was common for these dreams to feature dead or maimed children, or other such motifs, because your body/subconscious was letting you know you failed in your role as babymaker for another month. Huh...it's so interesting that you post this now. A few nights ago, I dreamed that Kate Windsor (as in, future Queen of England Kate Windsor) had an awful (v. bloody) miscarriage while I was supposed to be on security detail for her. And today, I realized that I was about to get the monthly visit from Aunt Flo. Weird!

I'm sorry you've been tormented by weird dreams. It's less than restful.

I hope your sleep this coming week is better.

To underscore my complete disinterest in procreation, my first two thoughts upon waking from that Kanye dream were 1.) I have to save the nachos! and 2.) I'm not cleaning that up.

Oh, I'm totally with you there--childfree by choice and very happy about it.

The first thing I thought upon waking was: "Who in the hell would put me in charge of security for the royals?" Lol!
