Well any sort of answer is of course going to be opinion. Sorry I haven't looked in the bible for a non opinion answer and also if I am completely off on what you meant by the question. But definately though God choose everybody. Each and every one of us are chosen by God. He chose us first before we were even made. In everybodies life they have to make the decision to choose God. Some people choose God earlier on in their lives and others choose later but either way for there to actually be a connection you have to choose God. God lets us have free will. I better stop now though because the word choose is looking and sounding really funny, choose, CHOOSE, choosing.
i agree. it's like the whole bride/bridegroom analogy people sometimes use. If only one chooses the other it won't be a very strong relationship, it's when both choose the other that there is a relationship. So to have a relationship with God we need to choose him as well. And yes God chooses everybody, so it's really up to us!
ya i'm pretty much saying the same thing. i guess it depends how you look at the question but i would say the two are somewhat unrelated. doesn't God choose and therefore use the people who don't choose him?? and obviously, since God gave us free choice, it is our decision to choose him. i don't know anyone that has really CHOSE God without wanting to [and so ya i am excluding the ones who are doing what they've been taught but not living for God kind of deal]. But ya like tom said, we were chosen before we were even born. he has a plan for us - ie he CHOOSES us to do his work. so ya..we choose God..he chooses us..we are his chosen ones..yep i'm getting stuck on the word [and variations of the word] choose.
Wow, everything's virtually been said. But I liked the points that Kari put up, that it's kind of both ways. God can and does choose people to do his Will. But we, having free will, can choose whether or not to open ourselves up to His guidance.
well put guys. That's basically what I thought/think as well. Free will is the answer. God, like Kari says, chooses us first, and then leaves the rest up to us. At this point I'm just repeating what has already been said.
