Title: Animagus Form
Rating: G
Characters: the founders
Challenge: founders / Animagus
For:
hp100 /
slytherin100 He’d always thought that he would turn into a snake.
After all, they say your Animagus form is your ‘true form,’ the appearance your traits take when you transform, one that you have no control over. Godric’s a phoenix, though everyone expected him to be a griffin. Rowena’s an owl. Helga’s a rabbit. All very appropriate.
But he… he considers himself cautious, shrewd; cunning, even. Nothing that resembles this… creature.
This… sheep, with curly, black fleece.
It hasn’t come as a surprise to the others, though. They’ve always known, that under all that grouchiness, Salazar is really a fluffy animal.
Title: Paranoid
Rating: G
Characters: Theo, Blaise, Millie
Challenge: Animagus
For:
slytherin100
Slytherins, in general, don't take risks.
"I don't think that's such a good idea, Theo."
"C'mon, Blaise. I know you can do it."
"That does not mean I have to. I might very well become a trout and die, you know."
"Fine. Don't do it. You'll just turn into a big chicken, anyway."
Slytherins don't take provocations very well, too.
With a pop, Blaise transforms.
Before Theo can comment, Millie comes in and sees the squirrel. "Ohh, how cute!" she squeals and hugs the frightened animal.
After she left, Blaise changes back and gasps,
"I knew something bad would happen!"
Title: Nightmare

Challenge: nightmare
For:
grangersnape100
"Harry," Hermione cried, her face pale, to her friend on the morning of their graduation.
"Hi, Hermione." Harry looked up into her uncertain eyes. "What's the matter?"
"Remember the dream I told you about two weeks ago?"
"Which one?"
"The one where Snape came into my room, wearing a frilly dress robe, holding a bunch of roses--?"
"That nightmare." Harry shuddered. "Yeah, I remember. He declared his undying love for you, right? I thought that was N.E.W.T. stress?"
"I thought so too... Harry?"
"Hmm?"
"My dream..." Hermione's voice trembled-- even she herself was unsure why-- "it just... came true."
Title: Alliteration
Rating: G
Characters: the founders
Challenge: founders
For:
hp100 Tigger, Pooh, Piglet and Rabbit were good friends and seldom argued. Tigger was brave, Pooh possessed wisdom, Piglet was thoughtful, and Rabbit was cautious.
Problems appeared as they decided to start a school together.
"I don't see the point of this debate. Why should we change our names?" said Tigger.
Piglet started to cry, because she really hopes people wouldn't remember her as Piglet Hufflepuff.
"Now see what you've done!" Rabbit shouted angrily at Tigger for upsetting his favorite girl.
Finally, it was the clever Pooh who came up with the idea to alliterate their names, and everyone was satisfied.
Title: Not Meant to Be I
Rating: PG
Characters: Salazar and his love
Challenge: founders
For:
hp100
The Chamber of Secrets was not built to be the lair of a Basilisk.
"Hang in there," he pleaded to the body as he raced to the Chamber.
She didn't answer, but the wound on her back wetted his palms. The Muggle that had inflicted the wound was dead. The entire village was.
That night, he stayed in the Chamber he built for her, watching the pain in her eyes contracted to glassiness. She never saw it, her birthday present now her grave.
Salazar put down his love, clenched his teeth, and went to find an egg and a toad.

hp100 The Astronomy Tower was not built to be a place for lovers.
It was Godric's shift when the torches marched toward the castle. He swore and ran down the stairs.
"They're coming," he announced as he rammed in. The other three rose.
"That's the fourth mob this month," spat Salazar.
"Helga, bring the children to the dungeons. Rowena, go up the Tower and try to hold the wards." Godric turned to Salazar, who nodded grimly.
"Be careful, Godric!"
"I will, Rowena."
"Don't hurt them! They don't know any better," Helga implored.
"I won't kill," promised Salazar, grinning sinisterly, "too many."

For:
hp100 "This is amazing!" Rowena exclaimed. "So many books! And endless time to read them all!"
Salazar went over and looked into the mirror. He smirked at his reflection, and held his tongue. He saw a great many things that he wished-- he knew-- he would possess. But the others did not need to know that.
Godric, however, was not thrilled. He ignored his virtual self banishing a dragon, and yanked Rowena away.
"How could you, Helga?" he accused. "This reeks of Dark Arts!"
"How'd I know?" sobbed Helga quietly. All she saw when she looked into the mirror was herself.
Title: Difficute to Please
Rating: G
Characters: the founders
Challenge: founders
For:
hp100
The founders are very hard to please, thought Dumbledore.
"I'm running out of books to read," said Rowena.
"I'm running out of people to save," whined Godric.
That was easy. Dumbledore assigned Hermione to read to Rowena's portrait, and conjured more dangerous landscapes for Godric to roam.
Salazar seemed to prefer haunting his Potions master, so Dumbledore left him to Severus.
The most difficult, however...
"Ahem," Helga coughed, interrupting the staff meeting again.
"Yes, Helga?" sighed Dumbledore.
"I don't think," huffed Helga, "that's good enough for the students."
The headmaster sighed again, and crossed out another item from the agenda.

hp100 A shattering scream rang through the castle.
"Merlin!" Rowena watched as flames engulfed the library. "The manuscripts!"
Helga was the first to arrive the scene. She heard sudden pleads of help. "No! There're students inside!"
The Godric came.
Helga was weeping. "Godric!"
"I can't get in there!" he cried desperately as a tongue of fire lashed at him.
Salazar came just in time to see Helga dive into the flames.
"Helga!" he howled, and was about to follow when a hand pulled him back.
"I'm here, Salazar!"
It was then they discovered that it was a Boggart behind the doors.

weasley100 Dang it., she curses as a red-head passes by. Just her luck that the only boy taller than her is a Gryffindor.
She has always been proud to be tall, but what kind of Slytherin girl stays boyfriend-less for seven years?
Bugger, he thinks as he passes by her. Why must his crush be a Slytherin?
Wait. Is she coming this way?
"Mil--"
She quiets him with a kiss on the lips.
"I'll remind you that I'm only doing this because of your height, Ronald Weasley," she says coolly.
Thereafter, he enjoys her daily reminder without bowing an inch.

"We can go through this." His voice was rough, but his hand holding hers was tender. "Fight, Millie."
"I've lingered for too long," said the woman on the bed, her face pallid under her black hair.
"You've always been strong," he implored. "Stay."
"I can't... it pains me physically. But most of all..." She reached out and touched his freckled face. "It pains me to see you like this."
A tear slipped onto her cold fingers.
"How am I to live without you? Millie..."
She hushed him weakly, "Bring me the baby, Ron. Let me see her before I leave."

"Bloody hell!"
Draco was by his side in an instant, taking his hand and examined the wound. Harry hadn't exaggerated: it was bloody.
"Damn!" Draco swore, and promptly put the injured finger into his mouth.
"Aww." Harry winced slightly, then relaxed against the gentle sensation on his finger tip.
Draco released him a moment later. Harry grinned.
"Is this what you'll do every time I hurt myself?"
Draco was not amused. "You! Away from the knives!" he said, and muttered about imprudent Gryffindors.
Harry pouted, knowing that thereafter his job in the kitchen would be confined to stirring the stew.

"What is this?" Godric allowed the contents in his spoon to slosh back onto the plate.
"It doesn't look very edible," agreed Rowena.
"Don't be judgmental," Helga said disapprovingly, tried a piece of charred carrot, and promptly choked.
This was a feast to celebrate Hogwart's first day of existence. Unfortunately, Rowena claimed to be allergic to salt, and Godric simply laughed when asked to cook.
"You said you could cook," Godric accused.
"I'm a Slytherin! I'm supposed to be good at everything!"
"Who's going to feed the students?" Helga asked.
It was then the founders decided to hire some house-elves.

Dean looks up from his sketch-book. "What's the matter?"
"I don't like rainy days," she says.
"I'm rather fond of them, myself," he answers. "Why don't you like rain?"
Just what she needs at the moment-- a prompt to rant. She takes a deep breath, and begins counting: "It's cold, it wets my books, it's boring, and you've no idea what it does to my hair!"
"Rain is boring?" He looks at her oddly, then pulls her out of the gazebo.
That day, Lavender learns to dance in muddy ponds and laugh.

The war had ended. They had lost. Their wands were snapped in half and they were living like the lowliest humans. They were living like Muggles.
"You, come 'ere!"
This morning, his wife pulled him by the ear away from the TV-- the only Muggle contraption that captured his interest. She led him into the basement. His nose twitched.
“What’s the meaning of this, woman?”
She huffed. “We’ve been here for two months, Lucius! High time you start to do something besides watching TV!”
He sulked. “What do you want me to do, then?”
“Here, Lucius. Meet the washing machine."
Title: Fear Factor

For:
hpchar100 Lucius’d been living in the Muggle world for three months now, and had been scared the whole time. When it came to evilness, he realized, there was no match for the Muggles.
Just this morning he saw Narcissa poke her eyes repeatedly, forcing tiny pieces of plastic onto her eyeballs.
If only Voldemort had come up with such creative torturing devices, he might have won the War, Lucius thought wryly.
But the most terrifying thing about the Muggles was their insanity.
He watched in frightened awe as the contestants on the show forced another worm down their throats.
He shuddered.
