1) What I just finished reading:

The Mitford Girls: The Biography of an Extraordinary Family, by Mary S Lovell.

Fascinating book about fascinating people.

You just can't make this stuff up!

I know, they were the most eccentric bunch of British eccentrics, you keep seeing fictional versions of them popping up in books and films all the time.

If I didn't already know they were real people I'd think they were over the top characters from a novel!

I have loved the Mitford sisters since I first read The Pursuit of Love and Love in a Cold Climate as a teenager- and a number of times since.

I even ploughed my way through all 830 pages of their letters!

I'm impressed at the letters! I looked at a collection of those, and with all the pet names and their own language terms it looked too crazy to me!

To be honest, I kept it by the bed and digested it about four of five letters at a time to help put me to sleep... :)
