If you're not already reading him, Warren Ellis is on LJ: mistersleepless. This was the first of 50 short stories that he's publishing here as "Scream Talking." He occasionally reprints one written before the project began, but only occasionally. I think he's still got one or two stories left of the 50.

He also posts other random bits of weird stuff, stunts, & creepiness. :) And his horde of filthy assistants has grown far beyond his expectations. Heh.

Wow, what a powerful piece... I am so impressed with it. But truly my dear, I do hear you... It sometimes seems as if I do not hear you, but I do, and this piece is just wonderful. I love it.
