O Blessed Day

Did I mention I now have a bedroom? Did I mention I didn't have a bedroom, and for a good four months was sleeping in the kitchen? I made a fort. It wasn't age-appropriate at all. I probably shouldn't have told people at work about it. But I gotta say, now that I'm once again sleeping like a big girl, four walls and a door have never felt more like ( Read more... )

Yes it *is* indeed a blessed day! You haven't done so well for so long since grade 12.

I downloaded that album AND I LOVE IT!! Goes very well with another one by Memphis (a one time album by a couple of the guys from Stars)

Long may you run...

Sweet.

The song made me giggle. I know the feeling.

In other news, I got the written comments for both of my Canadian courses yesterday. They're really good, across the board. My Car Culture evaluations were along the same lines.

Other than that, I'm well rested, family doing much better, and I wish to God they'd finish repairing my balcony so I can use it!

And oh yeah-- everywhere you go in Toronto, all anyone can talk about is this bollocks of a G20! The whole city is taking this collective breath and praying nothing too traumatic happens.

ah yes, G20.....i've gotta start watching the news. :P us westerners like to pretend YOU don't exist either, y'know. did you know the olympics were in vancouver recently?

that's awesome about your courses. congratulations doctor jon! now for your summer, i advise that you make your way out to the ocean and sail a thank offering into the eternal waves. it can be both a loving funeral for your past and a salutation to the future. either way, i suggest you incorporate elbow macaroni and term papers and set it on fire like a viking ship.

The Cons hutsumo June 13 2010, 03:22:20 UTC
I'm beginning to wonder if the Conservatives conduct themselves like this because it's just their true nature. ie: holding a summit/gathering in the most populated or popular place around and then having to hire a huge gaggle of security and inconveniencing everyone around. Two years ago, just before the last election, Harper touched down at Lakelse Lake for 40 minutes to vet the new candidate for the Cons in our riding, Sharon Smith. A friend of mine from Art Club - wondering what all the fuss and suits were doing at a fancy house on shore - zoomed in with her camera, freaked then quickly snapped this this gem of a photo- http://eileenhutson.blogspot.com/search/label/Harper... )

The thought shared by most Torontonians is that it is being held here because Harper has nothing to lose by pissing the city off. He has no MPs that come from the City, and only one in the surrounding region. He sure wasn't making any inroads here, so there was little chance of improvement. And you're spot on about the $$; one of the downtown councillors pointed out that with a billion dollars, they could pretty much fix homelessness in the City permanently. Funny how they found the money for that while screaming "deficit, deficit!" otherwise ( ... )

Not sure if you and your Mom are interested, but my opening impressions of the G20 are on my blog. Pictures and more to come.

I never like things people recommend (even general recommendations, usually. They don't even have to be made with me in mind. That's how disagreeable I am.) But that band? Like. Thank you.

Congratulations on getting a room of one's own, too.
