yeah, his work with the synclavier is really interesting. I first heard it on Jazz from hell and I remember bieng blown away by G-spot tornado. what a chaotic peice of music! Its impressive that the ensemble modern were able to do a decent job on the Yellow Shark album. I could never play aomething like that!
I'm still among the very few Zappa-Maniac-Persons who really do like that "Francesco Zappa" album and knew it wasn't FZ's own composition at all and also knew that "Francesco Zappa" really did exist despite David Ocker's humorous liner notes. (Although I don't know why the album says, "fl. 1763 - 1788" while Grove's gives no dates.)
